    7.6.2 r9500 Now Playing annoyances

Not sure if I'm in the right beta forum

Settings > Screen > Screensavers > When Playing
This now appears to list every image found, underneath the Image Viewer option, which currently includes all folder.jpg files from my music collection.
So there is an extremely long list.
I'm also missing options to set 3rd party applets as a screensaver (CustomClock or TextClock)

Now Playing appears to kick in whenever something changes, rather than the time lapsed.
For example while listening to radio, if the metadata changes then the 'Now Playing' screen appears.
Even if you are in the middle of scrolling through a menu - it just goes to the NP screen

That's not a firmware issue, but your using 7.7. You can configure it to not show your album artwork in the images section etc. (Settings/Advanced/File Types).

The screensaver section would list all picture "albums" found. This typically is just the folder name containing some images. Probably worth re-considering, or making this optional at least.

That's probably the downside of the fix for http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17529

Ah, I didn't realise that was there.
and you're correct - it was a list of folders that contained images.
I've changed the options and will do a rescan.

That's not a "downside". If it's not the correct behavior, it's a bug.

It's definitely not a downside - it's a major BUG as it almost renders the Touch unusable.

Please, is this going to be fixed? Is a bug report necessary?

In the meantime, how can I get the previous firmware back?

You can revert to the previously loaded firmware by holding down the volume up button on the IR remote while rebooting (not resetting) the Touch via the button on the back.

But you can't load an older firmware of your choosing: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17526.

You'll be prompted again at some point to update the firmware to the newest version, but this can easily be ignored by swiping the screen from left to right or holding the left-arrow button on the remote. Or, you can turn off software updates in the settings until this bug is fixed.
