I've been tagging all my FLACs with mp3tag, and usually use MusicBrainz as a source.
For multi disc albums, this has up to recently resulted in multi disc albums having an album title of "Album title (Disc x:disc title if it exists)"
Now this seems to have changed, and MusicBrainz is using a DISCNUMBER AND DISCTITLE tag it seems.
How do I get mp3tag to use these and will SBS make use of these? At the moment when I try mp3tag just tries to name all the track in the multi disc as one album if used with MusicBrainz. And no DISCNUMBER tags get added.
Cheers,
Menno

I'm not sure about how you can get Mp3tag to pull certain fields from MusicBrainz (I don't use its Tag Sources capability). You can edit any field you like within Mp3tag from the Extended Tags dialog, or by adding a new field to the Tag Panel on the left, or by adding a column to the grid view on the right.
Multi-disc sets must have exactly the same album name if you want Squeezebox Server to group the discs into a single album, so if that's happening it's a _good_ thing. Squeezebox Server recognizes DISCNUMBER (or DISC) and uses it to correctly order the tracks within the album. I'm pretty certain that it doesn't recognize DISCTITLE.
If Mp3tag isn't adding DISCNUMBER when using MusicBrainz you can always add it yourself. You don't need it (and actually should avoid it) it in single-disc albums, so you really only have to worry about adding it to multi-disc sets.

Thanks, I'll have a look at Picard.
I dont actually mind it changing, in that it makes more sense to have the album name clean of the disc info, and have that in tags. Especially now I know SBS can handle it.
The problem with mp3tag is that it doesnt yet seem to handle the new way MusicBrainz does multidiscs.

As JJZolx sad: you can edit mp3tag just as you like. If you need help: see the mp3tag forum (http://forums.mp3tag.de)
SBS can make use of discnumbers.
The "problem" with musicbrainz was that the old database did not have a discnumber field. So they "invented" the discnumbers in the album titles. The new database (NFS=Next Generation Schema) could handle this field now and has many other improvements.
MusicBrainz has a very good forum: http://forums.musicbrainz.orgSqueezebox: 2x Touch + 1x 3 Classic + 2x Radio
