What does "DISABLED" mean for MP3?

I just installed the newest available release and I see that, in the settings, all I have for "MP3" is "DISABLED" (under "Advanced"). MP3 is a very common format. Does this mean I am unable to stream MP3's?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Probably not, as MP3 is a format supported natively by any Squeezebox model produced so far.

I suppose you're looking at the File Types settings?
Most likely, it means that you don't have the lame MP3 encoder installed on your system, which will prevent Squeezebox Server from transcoding other formats like FLAC to MP3, if ever this would be necessary (which is very unlikely, unless you own the original SliMP3 player).

SBS has always needed LAME for MP3 - due to Licensing issues and the like
