    Scrawnyserver 0.6b released

    Hello again all,
I decided to start a new thread, since the old one got so full of all kinds of messages.

So 0.6b is out, exciting isn't it? Well it all depends on how exciting your Saturday evenings usually are.

Anyway the link to the pages as usual
    https://sourceforge.net/userapps/php...onen/index.php

    Main new features
    * IceCast webradio support
    * Volume control in web interface
    * Now with 3% less bugs!

I've been really busy lately, so it's not a huge release. I also haven't tested it as well as I should, so if you find anything, please report. I'll try to do a bigger release this year still, but the size depends on how well work treats me.

    Cheers,
    Kalle

    Hey Kalle

I've just installed your software on our WD Live TV (Python from optware) and it seems to run flawless, i.e. I can access the web interface, it scans the music folder etc.

But here's my million dollar question, and this may be very stupid, how do I get the Squeezebox (Radio) to play music from that server? When I go into "My Music", it doesn't see any servers and if I add the IP manually, it can't connect... So, help a blonde fellow, how do I do it? Am I going about it the right way, at least?

    Many thanks
    k.

    Hello,
I'm sorry to say I might have overstated the Squeezebox Radio support. I don't have one at home, so I haven't been able to test. Now when I look at the pics of Radio, I assume it uses the same JSON interface Touch and Duet use, earlier I thought it behaved like a Boom.

I haven't had much time to work at ScrawnyServer last months, but I will try to keep to the timetable to have a version by the end of the year that has preliminary support for the JSON interface. I'm not sure I get it complete enough to support the players in the first version, but I'll do my best.

    Cheers,
    Kalle

    Hi Kalle

I'm just glad to know that it wasn't that I was too dumb too use it ;-)

I have no idea about programming, but if I can support you in some way by testing, let me know!

    Regards,
    k.

And install it on a linux machine, then you have the actuall lua files just like a real player, you can see how it saves prefs etc. The good thing is that it's actually not an emulator it is the same software as the real players use with some modifications.
( no native wma support and limited to 24/48 )

Read my posts on earlier thread:

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...t=73646&page=3

I manage to get it working on a WDTV Live HD with custom wdlxtv firmware.

However the steps are not for a non techie unfortunately.

    Hi Kalle,
I could not figure out how to control the volume using web interface. A hint would be appreciated.

And thanks for adding the sorting feature for playlists.

I wish there was a way to import and update play counts in your database.

Then perhaps I could write some scripts to generate playlists based on play counts.

    Status of scrawnyserver ?

    Hi,

I test your server on my plugcomputer (iconnect arm device). It works using python 2.7 with archlinux. But it seems that the project is stopped and this server does not support squeezebox radio. I can help to add some new features to support squeezebox radio, but only if I am not alone.

So, are they other people interested by this project ?

    Ty
