    Yes.

The Release Candidate was deemed worthy of Release, and thus was Released.

Fixes done between the time that RC3 was offered and the time it was promoted to an Official Release aren't in it.

I'm trying the "official release" at 9:21 esdt on 23 aug

More in a few. "Library" in the CP no longer shows "Use iTunes" I'll just put that in another thread.

    More later.

Install over previous <official> release without uninstall.

Oh, I think somebody mentioned this before, but I can't remember whether
there's a bug report or not: the 17mins are the sum of the tasks'
durations. But some of them (discovery) run parallel, thus they shouldn't
be summed up. Might be worth a bug report.

    Exclamation Overall positive

I guess my experience has been overall pretty good with 7.6.1.

The one problem that seems to standout is that I could have wasted a bunch of time allowing the initial scan as it would only scan one of my two drives.

When I aborted it and then invoked a rescan, both drives were discovered and scanned.

That seems a bit geeky still. How is the average user to know to do that?

Otherwise, running fine. And I've found no further problems with artwork that plagued 7.5. Also the rescans (after that initial one mentioned above) take 6-10 mins which is great for my relatively large library.

zactly! why should the first be different? The last installs/updates I tried went to scanning where they were when the VM was shutdown. NVTS !

    Thumbs up thumbs up

Yes, overall, two weeks into reinstallation and I'm still high on the new server software.

The biggest benefits are 1) better performance with iPeng on my iPad and 2) much faster rescan time and 3) no problems with artwork that plagued the 7.5.x series.

It's good now. I can't wait until it gets better.

Thanks to Logitech, developers, and this forum.
