I aborted the new music scan which started immediately after I installed SBS and then began a scan for new and changed music. Those are the stats you see above.
I'm not sure what to make of the fact that only 1 of 42 new files on drive H were scanned.

I'm optimistic about this release but I was optimistic about RC3 until it started crashing without an apparent reason. From what I can tell, this version IS RC3.Last edited by jimzak; 2011-08-23 at 03:55.

I timed the scanning time. It was almost exactly 10 minutes. I'm not sure why SBS is reporting 17:50.http://zzzone.net

Oh, I think somebody mentioned this before, but I can't remember whether
there's a bug report or not: the 17mins are the sum of the tasks'
durations. But some of them (discovery) run parallel, thus they shouldn't
be summed up. Might be worth a bug report.

Overall positive
I guess my experience has been overall pretty good with 7.6.1.
The one problem that seems to standout is that I could have wasted a bunch of time allowing the initial scan as it would only scan one of my two drives.
When I aborted it and then invoked a rescan, both drives were discovered and scanned.
That seems a bit geeky still. How is the average user to know to do that?
Otherwise, running fine. And I've found no further problems with artwork that plagued 7.5. Also the rescans (after that initial one mentioned above) take 6-10 mins which is great for my relatively large library.http://zzzone.net

thumbs up
Yes, overall, two weeks into reinstallation and I'm still high on the new server software.
The biggest benefits are 1) better performance with iPeng on my iPad and 2) much faster rescan time and 3) no problems with artwork that plagued the 7.5.x series.
It's good now. I can't wait until it gets better.
