Hello,
I'm attempting to update LazySearch for SBS 7.6 and am drawing a blank
over something... The plugin presents search results on classic players
following searching on the IR remote. All of this continues to work fine
for 7.6.
When the plugin is showing search results I want to allow the users to
press RIGHT to browse into those results, just like you can with the
standard search. For example, search for an album then press RIGHT on
the album to see a list of tracks. Similarly, pressing RIGHT on an
artist search result would show all that artist's albums.
In the pre-7.6 days I used to do this by pushing into the 'browsedb'
mode. This has gone under 7.6 to be replaced with OPML-based menus being
fed to the xmlbrowser mode (as far as I can tell).
I've been looking at this for a while without success. I was hoping I
could do something like call "Slim::Menu::GlobalSearch::menu" specifying
that I wanted an album menu and passing an artist tag to restrict that
search (eg "artist_id:1234"). I would then pass that menu back into the
'xmlbrowser' mode and it would all work perfectly(!). I'm keen to do it
this way if I can since I hope that means that all the standard result
browsing functionality (such as context menus or mixers) would just work.
However, this doesn't seem to be a supported use case. To save my brain
can anyone indicate whether this is possible and I'm just going about it
in the wrong way?
The alternative is to create my own mode for browsing
artists->album->tracks, but that seems to me like duplication that
should be avoidable.
Thank,
Stuart
