Hi,
I've been struggling with the firmware update for a long time now, but there seems to be no solution?
The last firmware i installed successfully was 7.5.3.
All new versions download to 100% the screen changes to installing, the progress bar stays at full and the the error message is displayed. There was a problem... I tried the version 7.6.0 which is my squeezebox.com,tried to download jive 7.6.1 on my sdcart and the 7.6.1 on my server, but nothing works.
Turning on off doesn't help tried everything (i think).
Please help.
Regards,
Hellsblade
NB: The server displays strange firmware version.

Cannot Update Firmware
Hi,
Can you tell the forum more about your operating system on your computer or NAS or Windows Home Server.
What browser are you using to obtain your downloads?
I have had trouble in the past, mostly with Internet Explorer. I now use Firefox or Chrome.
I have had to completely clean out previous installations before downloading the update, when I have had any problems updating.
Just lately though, updating has been easy. It's just the changes within the update that cause a problem. The update 7.6.0. caused me a problem with plug-ins, but I have sorted that using a nightly update (7.6.1.r33004).
I am sure someone technically minded will get you sorted, once the operating system is known.

Try disabling your anti-virus and firewall before installing the software.

But it is the server that downloads the upgrades and then push it to the players, restarting the server might help sometimes .
Btw you havent set sbs to not check for updates
Inside ...cache/updates you should find the fw updates.
Example I use 7.6.1 33068 so this is what I have (if you are using another version it be something else)
baby_7.6.1_r9468.bin
baby.version
fab4_7.6.1_r9478.bin
fab4.version
jive_7.6.1_r9478.bin
jive.version
Jive would be the controller if your SBS running on the NAS having trouble reaching mysb.com or internet at all (hint no radio menus when using the local server, and DNS errors in the server.log ).
Just grab a suitable jive.bin and jive version from http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/ and put it there and restart the server .
or rename the bin file to jive.bin and put it on an SD card and put it in the SD card slot above the battery and upgrade from SD card .
But do keep the files in upgrades at the same level otherwise the server migth get ideas and try to upgrade.--------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought you meant the SBS server downloaded, start SBS server install on computer, SBS server install stops at full progress bar. SBS install on a computer can stall like this with some antivirus software.
I misinterpreted your described symptoms.

Problem Solved
Hi Everyone,
Thx for trying to help me out.
I just solved my own problem. I thought why not try downgrading first.
I just downloaded one of the older versions (jive_7.0_r2097.bin), put it on my SDcard as jive.bin and it installed just fine. Restarted (looked retro) ;-).
And just updated to the version available on the server.
That did the trick.

Duet Controller 7.6.1 Upgrade Success by Downgrading First
Briefly, I was unable to upgrade my controller from 7.6.0 to 7.6.1 but succeeded when I first used an SD card to 7.5.4 and then the 7.6.1 upgrade worked.
The Duet Controller software update from 7.6.0 to 7.6.1 failed every time I tried it, exiting with a non-informative error mesage and then just looping to the start the update again. The error occurred after the "Downloading" stage and during the "Installing" screen.
The "factory" reset (holding down the + key while starting) did not fix it. Tech. support seemed to think there was a downloading problem and eventually suggested that I load the update from an SD card, which, as I expected did not work (since the problem appeared to be installing, not downloading). If the problem was going from 7.6.0 to 7.6.1 perhaps if I reverted the Controller to the earliest version the update would work, tech. support suggested. Unfortunately I was never able to get it to revert to the earliest firmware version, which was said to be done by holding the volume-up button while starting.
I suggested that perhaps using the SD card to downgrade to an earlier version would work, to enable the upgrade from that lower version to 7.6.1. The tech. support agent suggested using version 7.5.5 in http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.5.5/ which actually contained only 7.5.4, namely jive_7.5.4_r9408.bin . I used that, putting it on the SD card, downgrading the controller to 7.5.4, then restarted and selected the 7.6.1 update. It installed, no problem.
