since upgrading to 7.6, my duet receiver won't connect in hybrid, wireless or bridge mode. my controller does connect to the wireless network.
my 3 x booms, 1 x sb2 & O2 joggler running squeezeplay all connect without issue.
the receiver runs through it's normal proceedure eg red, amber, then stops at blue and will not connect to my SBS or squeezebox.com.
it gets an ip address via ethernet (goes blue) but that is all it will do.
it doesn't get an ip address via wireless (stays yellow) and that's it.
should i be able to ping it because i can't get a reply when it's on ethernet.
if i revert to a previous version (as i've tried everything else), will the firmwares downgrade on my booms etc
regards,
louis

If your receiver is getting a IP, but won't connect to your SB server I'd try with the firewall on your SB server disabled. Are you by chance running SBS on a Win7 x64 with avast? This configuration has seen some problems in the last fiew months. If this is the case do a search on avast over in the Squeezebox server forum.

it's not that.
sbs is on a centos 5 server. iptables & selinux is disabled and this is the dhcp server.
i've changed my switch recently so i'm not sure if it's the switch (as it's vlan'd etc) or 7.6. it's defintely set right with the port being untagged for the squeezebox receiver.
if i remove the ethernet cable and try and hook it up via wireless, it doesn't connect (even though all my other devices ie booms, squeebox classic etc all hook up)
this makes me think it is something to do with the receiver itself.
i'm going to take it down my friends house who has a lesser version etc and see how it performs down there.

7.6 is really BAD
I just upgraded/updated to the 7.6 too, on 8/4/11 when my remote asked me if I wanted it to update.
I run a SBduet from my Mac desktop via a wifi.
I cannot connect to my music on my hard drive. I can listen to internet radio stations - but of course those are bad quality anyway, but still possible.
I go to system preferences and click the "start server" button, which after about 30 seconds the server starts and then drops back off in less than a minute - maybe the first 10 seconds of a song (if I try to play a song from my hard drive).
I've updated everything on my computer and my Mac computer checks for updates doesn't show anything for an update for Squeezebox. I am not a computer expert, but the Squeezebox experience has definately gone down hill for me. More lost connections, seems to have lost more than half of my album art in iTunes (the art shows up in iTunes but not on my SB Duet).
Is this becoming a legacy product the Logitech is choosing to stop support?
If so, I can tell you I will move to the Apple products instead of any of the new Logitech products.

There have been a couple of other Mac users with problems that sounds like yours http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89229
Maybe you should post in that thread.
You may add a little info:
Which Mac OS version?
and iTunes?

well. it's defineteley the software as when i change the library name, the receiver tries to connect to the music library's name but just can't do it.
so, it's talking to the server because it wouldn't know the server's library name otherwise.

yup, 7.6 is bad
Also had the same issue, there are some discussion around this on this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89198
also have a look at the wiki: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Release_Notes
I installed the beta 7.6.1 and all works... at least from what I can tell.
In my opinion Logitech didn't do a good job on the 7.6 release.

Alex

does anybody know if this has been resolved yet?
i've gone back to 7.5.... no joy
i've gone forward to 7.6.1..... no joy
it's almost like my receiver has gone kaput. it gets dhcp lease and just stays at the blue light on ethernet.
it simply can't connect via wireless even thought everything else can eg 2 x booms, squeezebox classic etc
