    Amy Winehouse found dead

You could see that coming a mile away. What a waste.

Indeed, you could see it coming.
But still a shame, the only REALLY significant female musician of today

    Overgeneralize much?

Now, this is indeed very sad, and a waste, and all that. But how the heck do you expect to get away with such a silly statement like the above?

Aimee Mann; Lucinda Williams; k.d. lang; Kate Bush; Joss Stone; all of these are significant female artists who are releasing music on a regular basis. Winehouse was a major talent, but your hyperbole does a disservice to these and many other fine female musicians.

Sorry to tell you but Aimee Man, Lucinda Williams, K.D. Lang & Kate Bush are female artists from the previous century...
Joss Stone, she can sing... but her music is in no way as influential as the music made by Amy Winehouse... Not in a million miles...

I'm not talking about 20 years ago, I said "today".
We could argue about Norah Jones because she started the Jazz-style singing revival that made Amy Winehouse possible but her songwriting skills aren't even remotely comparable.

Joss Stone, sorry, you can't be serious. There's more to music than a good looks and a great voice, she's just another "me too".

The other female singer that is similarly influential today than Winehouse was is Lady GaGa but I see here more as a kind of artist in a general sense, her music is not that revolutionary.

No, you would have to come up with different calibers to prove me wrong.

I would hardly call Joss Stone "me too." Her first album came out the same year as Amy's and was arguably more influential.
