Thread: 24 bit?

    24 bit?

I ripped a remaster of Marillion's Brave using Eac to flac. The cover of the cd says "24 bit digital remaster" my touch says its 16 bits when I click on the "info"

    Did I rip it wrong?

CDs are only 16-bit, you didn't do anything wrong.

CDs are 16 bit, 44100 Hz. The blurb on the cover just means that the mastering of the music was done in 24 bits.

as indeed it has been on every CD in the last 20+ years... :-)
You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
