    server cpu utilization

The server seems to consume about 2% of CPU all the time, when no music is playing. This seems excessive. It is enough that it causes the fan to keep running.

Are there parameters I can adjust to reduce CPU utilization when the server is idle?

In the SBS web interface go to Settings > Advanced > Performance > Server Priority. But there's no guarantee that will be enough to stop the fan from running. Are you running any screensavers or plugins that may require server activity? Note that on the older players (SB3/Classic, Boom, etc) even displaying the time requires server activity to paint the pixels.

You may also want to consider the ServerPowerControl plugin, which can suspend, hibernate, or shutdown your server when the SBs have been idle for a certain amount of time.

I turned off the date & time screensaver. That seems like it produced some improvement.

Priority is not the issue. Utilization is the issue.

    The two are directly related.
