Hi,
I wanna ask first before posting a bug if it is a bug or if there's something wrong with my settings:
If I browse by artist and choose "All songs" those songs are shown in no particular order (respectvely they are sorted by album in the order i added the albums to the database).
It would be VERY useful if the song would be stored alphabetically so I could quickly see, if I own a song and on which albums it is. It's also useful to check spelling when the songs are listed beneath each other in this list.
I thing this had been the other way in a previous version - now I am using 7.6 nightly, tested in on WEB UI, SB Touch, SB Controller and SB Radio.
Any chance to change it?
Thanks in advance
Frank

I like the "by album" grouping. But I can see where this wouldn't work for a lot of folks.

This is one of the areas where the current onebrowser implementation fails pretty badly.
They're being sorted by the same criteria that you've set in the web interface for browsing albums. For example, I use 'Artist, Year, Album', which is exactly how I want to browse albums. That doesn't always work well when viewing a list of tracks.
There's a similar problem when viewing the Various Artists' albums. They're also sorted by that same order, so are in date/chronological order. Now, if I'm looking at a list/page of 30+ Van Morrison albums, having them in date order is ideal. But not when I'm looking through a list/page of 100 compilation albums from totally random artists. I have no bloody idea when the soundtrack to Trainspotting or the Brazil Sampler was released, so date order is useless.

I agree completely! I'd like to sort by the oder:
album artist -> year ...
So in Your case all Van Morrison albums would appear first (in chronological order) than all "Various Artists"/Complilation albums (in alphabetical order as well.
@JJZolx:
This could be that it's taken from the criteria for browsing artists/albums - BUT, there is no criteria to choose for "tracks" (or "title")... isn't it?

Titles by Artist NOT sorted
I believe it sorts the songs in album order, and then track order, not the order that the albums were added to the DB.
As a workaround, if you go to Advanced Search and search only for the artist name, I believe you get all songs in song order.

If this is the case in 7.6, then it is a change in functionality, because in 7.5.x it always sorts by album then track number.
I believe pre-7.6, this was the case as it is effectively the same as pressing Play/Add on the artist name, or Add on each album returned for the artist.
Sometimes I press Play on All Songs, in which case playing the songs grouped by album seems quite sensible.
It would be nice to be able to sort the list of songs in various ways; but to be honest I never browse All Songs for an artist - if I know what I'm looking for, I browse to the album, or if I can't remember what song an album is on, I use advanced search, which is probably faster than paging through a long list of songs.

Of course, this means you can only do this via the web browser - not the duet contoller
