WHS 7.5.4 - r32224 - No artists

Hello,

I've recently installed 7.5.4. on my HP Homeserver. Since then it again and again crashes while scanning. However restarting with 'new and changed music' ultimately it will add everything to the database.

The only problem remaining is that I always end up with no artists.
When the scanning crashes and half of the collection is scanned then there are artists but when the system finally reaches to have scanned everything it results with 0 artists. (See the numbers - sorry for the dutch).

Totaalaantal tracks: 12.947

Totaalaantal artiesten: 0
Totaalaantal genres: 18
Totale speeltijd: 916:09:43

I've tried it first with the latest full release for WHS 7.5.4.-32171 but that gave these problems so now I tried it with a BETA version hoping this would have improved.

If anybody can give me a tip that would be great. I'm on the verge of downgrading but I cannot find the old 7.5.3. version anywhere anymore.

Here are the last lines with an error of the scanner log (the last time I did new and changed music). I have a feeling this error is a result of the facc that there are no artists, not the cause of it.

Morning,
Have a look at the other thread running ref the scanner crashing in 7.5.4. I too have had the no artists returned, on some of my scans, as well as multiple scanner crashes on Windows Home Server.
There is a problem(s) with 7.5.4 and the appropriate bug report has been started.
Version 7.5.3. runs without problem for most users, you could try that. As for any beta version, this may well have the problem as found in 7.5.4 repeated in that version.

The issue is not solved however I managed to get back to version 7.5.3 - r31792
I first went back to 7.4.0. and rescanned and all music was found properly.
Then I went searching for version 7.5.3. and found it here:

Installing this version appears to have worked although I haven't rescanned yet but the database built in 7.4.0. was kept so I'm not going to touch this anymore until I need to.

This is basically a lesson that I learned many years ago - <B> never change a running and working system until you realy need to </B>. This excercise was a reminder again.
