Hi Kingwire,

what type of music files are you trying to play? What server version are you using? Are you using the latest version of SqueezePlayer from the market (1.3.3) ?
Do you also get into trouble with 1 SqueezePlayer + 1 SqueezeSlave + 1 Radio (i.e. not more than 3 players playing at the same time) ?

Another idea: can your HTPC run the SqueezePlay software (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.7)? This is the original firmware of the SB Radio so you might get better synchronization results with this software?

I'm away from home for the next two weeks (holidays) so unfortunately am not able to test myself.
I never did test synchronization between SqueezeSlave + SqueezePlayer - my tests so far only involved SqueezePlayer and real Squeezeboxes.

Even with your suggested combo it still show same problems
I chose squeezeslave because you can run it as a service, this is handy for when using HTPCs to play movies and such as SqueezePlay doesn't seem to be able to take back priority of the sound card after playing HD videos.

Hi kingalien,

another user recently detected, that the order in which he synchronizes devices matters. SqueezePlayer (in the current version) only works as expected, when it is synced to another device (i.e. being a slave in the sync group).
I doesn't like being synced to (i.e. being the first device in a sync group).

Maybe this already solves (part of) your trouble, if not I'm afraid you'll have to wait for me being back from my holidays where I'm able to access my Squeezeboxes for further tests.

The first percentage is the audio buffer => if it's at 0% then there is no more to play and SqueezePlayer will make a short pause to rebuffer.
The second percentage is the download buffer => if it's at 0% the mp3 decoder doesn't have new data to decode, so the first buffer will soon go down as well, as there's is nothing to fill it again.

As you say the second percentage goes down first, this means that SqueezePlayer is not able to download enough data fast enough.
Either your network is not fast enough or your server has problems sending out enough data.

You are using WiFi, do you? Anything else that might stress your network (big downloads, whatever?)


I'm analyzing those crashs right now and hope to resolve them this week(end?).

I have the same problem here. After a minute or two the music stops playing. When I watch the Squeezeplayer app I see after a couple of minutes the second percentage going to 0%. After that the first goes down to 0% also and the music stops.
I'm using Wifi (150Mbps) and the Squeezeserver is installed on a computer (Intel Pentium 4600 + 4Gb memory). I have no problem playing music on my Squeezebox Boom (also Wifi).
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S 2 with Android 4.0.3 installed.

Any suggestions?

As I already mail you I did receive it this time.

I couldn't wait testing it.
And the result: It works!
The second percentage goes to 0% after a few minutes but before the first percentage is falling it goes back to 99%. This repeats itself after a few minutes. Overall the music didn't stop playing and that is what it is expected to do.
I hope this info helps you to better your program.

I just uploaded version 1.3.4 to the Play Store

• On Android 4.x devices, SqueezePlayer now prevents that the WiFi throughput is throttled when the display is off. Buffering issues you might have been seeing due to this should be gone.
• SqueezePlayer has been recompiled to also support devices with MIPS processor

So if you are on an Android 4.x devices and are facing buffering issues, you should really give this version a try.
