    Hi carled,

    sorry I missed your post.
SqueezePlayer receives music from your Squeezebox-Server.

It isn't a DLNA server, so cannot stream anything to your Blue-Ray player.

Did you try the latest 7.7 version of Logitechs server? It is a DNLA media server now - so it might be able to achieve what you want.
Did you know: SqueezePlayer will stream all your music to your Android device. Take your music everywhere!

Thanks for the reply. I knew that the android squeeze player was a playback client, but I wondered if, like bubblesoft upnp it could also act as a server/redirect to a different renderer.

Not sure how the new server software can help though? Unless the blu-ray has a squeeze player client in it, and I'm pretty convinced it hasn't!

I was wondering if there's a generic app that puts the entire tablet into dlna server mode or can redirect audio and/or video to a remote renderer. Probably not.

So when I want to play music to the blu-ray/amp I can do so from the tablet but only if I use a dlna-enabled player and not squeeze player then?

I'm afraid I cannot answer that.
Personally I don't have DLNA at home, so never looked for any DLNA app.

I've just seen that the latest version of the NDK supports x86. Is it possible to revisit whether SqueezePlayer could be compiled to run on x86? I can guarantee you a sale here, and probably quite a few from the Joggler community amongst others - plus Intel seems to be pushing for more android-x86 in the future.

    Thanks for looking!

I have a locally built version that supports x86 + arm.
If you want to test it and give me feedback, please write me on support@squeezeplayer.com

Please provide your deviceID (https://market.android.com/details?i...deviceid&hl=de) as well.

If that works one interesting question remains: can it be purchased via Android or other markets ... but lets do the tests first.

Good news for all us android-x86 users - it seems to work fine!

However, market filtering is likely to be an issue for most of us as there aren't many apps which appear when you're using a Joggler. It appears that it reports almost no features, so any which are required by an app will prevent it appearing in the market.

This is also an issue for apps like Squeeze Commander (which I gather works fine too), so hopefully we can find a solution - either by removing the android market filters causing the problem, or by using some alternative app store.

Android Galaxy S2 playback pauses a lot and is out of sync

I just purchased two Squeezebox radios today and got them all setup and synced with a home server for playback.

So I purchased your app and synced it up with the radios.
But the app on my Galaxy S2 pauses randomly and is always out of sync by more than a second, sometimes more like 5-10 seconds!

This is with mp3s from my local network and with Pandora both.

The two radios and my Linux server (with squeezeslave) all seem fine staying in sync and playing the same mp3s and Pandora.

What should I try to fix your Android SqueezePlayer?

    Thanks,
    Mike

This means it could run on the revue! That would really cool.

In theory: yes, In practice: no
GoogleTV ignores the x86 code in SqueezePlayer in their current firmware. It's a shame really as Google opened Android for x86 for their smartphones, but misses to support it on their own GTV.

    Synchronisation was discussed here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=670067
Unfortunately its a hit or miss based on the Android hardware you are using.

When it pauses randomly it could either be because of buffering issues (you could observe that on the main page of SqueezePad - if the numbers drop to 0 all the time, it's buffering and you should check your WiFi) or because your mobile just does not have a good clock (so that SqueezePlayer tries to catch up all the time).

As a test I'd always suggest to start 'small', i.e. just sync it to one Radio (and leave the others off) and see how it works, then slowly adding the other Radios.
Only in the end you should add SqueezeSlave because this is the one that (as a third party tool) also imposes the biggest risk to other devices.
