Guess, will indeed start to compile a list of synchronisation compatible devices and post them in my blog. Anyone interested, please do some tests and report here about your synchronisation experiences.
What Android version is running on your two mobiles by the way?
Could you further clarify what 'out of sync' means to you:
- Do they roughly start at the same time but slowly drift apart?
- Don't they start at the same time and don't get in sync in at least 30seconds (if boxes don't start at the same time, they still try to catch up over time ...) ?
- Do all devices skip heavily all the time, trying to get into sync but are not successful?
- Is one device 'just' a little bit behind but always with the same lag - so they do actually sync if it wasn't for the time-lag? (For this last point there are options in the server for each player to accomodate for this by the way. One can configure small delays there)

I tried syncing with my Xoom and my son's Boom (gee, this stuff makes its own poetry ;-). The results were not so good.
First I started playing the Boom, and as it was playing I sync'ed my Xoom to it. The sync wasn't perfect, but it was close.
In an attempt to force it to resync, I skipped to the next track. At this point the sync was unacceptable and was probably a good .25 seconds out. Changing tracks did not improve it at all.
At this point I gave up.
My music is encoded in FLAC. I do not have transcoding configured for the Xoom (i.e. it is coming as FLAC to the Xoom). My server version can be found in my sig.
I don't really care since I won't use this functionality and really wouldn't expect it to work. But you asked :-).Last edited by maggior; 2011-11-15 at 18:06.

wifi invalid server error on galaxy s 2
Hi
Have been using squeezeplayer without issues on a HTC desire.
Just picked up a samsung galaxy s2 and once installed receiving a "wifi invalid server" error. Squeezecommander works fine.
I have two squeezebox servers to select from. It can see them both fine (one on 7.7 one on 7.6) but both have same error.
Help appreciated!

How long did you wait for Boom + Xoom to get into sync again? Give it 10-30seconds at least before you skip again. (it often takes less then 30seconds). This resyncing would only happen on the very first song of a playlist by the way - songs that are skipped automatically don't bother the sync.
The start of the song is where I have the least influence on the Android device.
A Squeezebox (and iOS) can say: "Dear little Soundchip, here you have some audio data, please prepare for instant playing but only start when I tell you".
On Android I can only say: "Dear little Soundchip, here is the data of the next song, pleeeeeaassse start to play it as soon as possible so that I don't start too much out of sync".
SqueezePlay then tries to catch up the lost time as soon as possible, but the Squeezebox-Server first observes its players for some time before sending correction infos to each player.Did you know: SqueezePlayer will stream all your music to your Android device. Take your music everywhere!

Ah, OK. I learned something new :-). I may have given it 10 seconds, but definitely not 30 seconds. I figured that it would attempt to realign the sync at the start of each track, which was why I tried that.
Tonight I'll give it 30 seconds or more and see if it adjusts itself into sync.Rich

OK, that's better :-) . Letting it play for a good thirty seconds gets it in good sync. It's quite tight. I'm right next to the boom and I'm holding the xoom up to me right ear. There's a very slight echo, but if the devices were spread out more, I'm sure I wouldn't notice it. Very nice!!!

Sensation is 2.3.4 kernel 2.6.35.13 i'll put HTC HD2 aside now, as it is originally a WinMo phone and was reflashed with Android.
It looks like the phone is in-sync for 3-5 seconds, but then rapidly falls behind. I tested with the .flac and skipping to the next song just repeats the cycle - in-sync and quickly falling behind. Interestingly enough - I do no hear neither Squeezebox Radio, nor my phone skipping in the attempts to re-sync.

possible to stream output from squeezeplayer to DLNA client?
Scenario I have is music on a NAS running squeezebox server. I want to use the android tablet with squeezeplayer as the library device and stream the output via dlna (like bubblesoft upnp allows) to my samsung BD-C5500 blu-ray player which is connected to the network and my amp/speakers.
Is this possible? Or is there another app that can run simultaneously on the android tablet that can output the audio to a DLNA client?
