I am running Squeezebox Server on Windows 7.5.3 64 bit over power adapters instead of wireless. In the last few days the server has lost connection with my SB3 and Duet players. I get a 'Your player was not found' message. There have been some previous posts on this subject in conjunction with Avast firewalls/anti-virus product. I am using Norton Internet Security 2011. I have ensured that ports 3483, 9000 and 9090 are open for all connections in both directions but to no avail at this point. I have gone through the routine of powering down everything and bringing up the router, Squeezeserver and players in that order but this has not solved the problem. I have a feeling this issue is linked to Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 which I applied recently. I tried to uninstall this using a restore point but there were errors and I got a message saying it was not uninstalled. However when I look in the programs update area in Control Panel the new Service Pack does not appear to be there. Has anybody else experienced this very annoying issue and, better still, found a solution?

Have you tried shutting off the firewall completely? Using a close configuration I found that I had to remove the program Squeezesvr.exe from the firewall entries for these ports and just go with "All programs..." in the inbound rules.

Today I had a similar problem although I am using WinXP. I woke up early this morning and tried to up the volume with the remote. It immediately started giving me error messages about not being able to connect. The first thing I did was check that SqueezeServer was running. It was. I rebooted my computer, router and dsl modem. No help. I reset the SB2 many times to re-enter my wireless password. Again no help. I checked my NOD32 antivirus but found nothing there. I finally broke out one of my spare SBs (another SB2) and hooked it up next to the original SB2. Same problem. The last thing I tried, which fixed the problem, was to find the IP address of SS by looking in the web control settings info section and manually enter this address in the SB wireless setup. It seems that the automatic DHCP was not finding the correct address. Once I manually entered the address it began working properly! I am not sure what will happen if the IP address changes though.

I have disabled the firewall completely to no avail. I can also ping my players on the network. Thinking of reinstalling Slimserver but its a bit drastic.

If you're going to reinstall Squeezebox server you might want to avoid 7.5.3 and either go with 7.5.2 or 7.5.4. There are many reports that 7.5.3 has connectivity issues that may be even worse when paired with Win7 SP1.

Glad to hear that all is now working! I'm expecting Squeezebox server 7.5.4 to go RTM any day so hopefully this will not have the issues that have plagued so many with the 7.5.3 version. It will also get firmware back in synch between MYsb.com and Squeezebox server so those who switch back and forth won't be prompted anymore for firmware changes everytime they switch. You'd think that Logitech would back off 7.5.4 from MYsb.com if they're going to keep delaying 7.5.4 Squeezebox server???
