Hello,

I installed 7.6.0 32219 beta on my Synology DS410j.
I can`t start the server.
The log says, that the Modules EV and audio::scan are the false version !
What can I do ??

The beta version specifies particular versions of those perl modules. Look at modules.conf and this will tell you which versions to install. This would be the preferred approach.

My os is debian etch and is very out of date so I installed the latest version of these packages and removed the perl packages in the distribution root/CPAN which referenced an earlier version of the perl libs, forcing slimserver.pl to use the later umodified package.

This would probably not be recommended by the Logitech folks who after all went to the trouble of customising this software especially for SBS.

You could also edit modules.conf to use a later version of the software, but you might also have to hunt for the version number in the module code and also alter it. This would be "tricking" the sbs software to use other versions of dependent code which could result in unexpected behaviour.

Getting this to work will require some knowledge of perl and CPAN and how that works on your OS.
