squeezebox server dies/restarts forever; how to debug?

Hi,

I'm using squeezebox server 7.5.2 on Ubuntu. Ever since yesterday, I see this message thousands of times in the log:

2011-03-19 21:06:18 Squeezebox Server died. Restarting.
2011-03-19 21:06:23 Squeezebox Server died. Restarting.
2011-03-19 21:06:28 Squeezebox Server died. Restarting.

etc.

Occasionally, it says:

2011-03-19 21:50:42 Squeezebox Server died. Restarting.
2011-03-19 21:50:47 squeezeboxserver_safe stopped.
2011-03-19 21:50:47 squeezeboxserver_safe started.
2011-03-19 21:50:52 Squeezebox Server died. Restarting.

but then the messages just continue. Needless to say, my devices cannot connect to the server.

p.s. i restarted the server with --failsafe, but that didn't help... although i'm not 100% sure I passed that argument correctly to /etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver. i edited that script and added "--failsafe" to the SLIMOPTIONS
