Whenever I restart the Squeezebox Server software on my Ubuntu Server, two of my players become synchronised, when they weren't before the restart (two Squeezebox 3 units - I also have a Touch and have Squeezeplay running on the same server, as well as the occasional instance of Softsqueeze 3.9 beta when I run it on my PC).
I've had this issue for a long while now (probably a couple of years) so I doubt it's version specific, more likely a start-up setting buried in a file that I can't find, but anyway:
Version: 7.5.3 - r31792 @ Mon Jan 24 07:13:35 PST 2011
Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: i686-linux
Perl Version: 5.10.1 - i686-linux-gnu-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 5.1.49-1ubuntu8.1
Total Players Recognized: 1
I just noticed there that the "Total Players Recognized" = 1, when there are 4 showing in the player list. I suppose though that that's an unrelated issue.
Could anyone point me in the direction of the file that may contain a setting that kicks these two players to sync at start-up?

Just a 0,01% thing they are not synced on mysqueezebox.com ?
And if you go to the player settings in squeezeboxserver you are sure that they are set to not sync (unsync and save) .--------------------------------------------------------------------

In Settings > mysqueezebox.com, try disabling mysqueezebox.com integration. And if you don't use mysqueezebox.com, remove the email address and password.
I wouldn't say that the issue of the players recognized is unrelated. If you have two SB3s and a Touch connected to the server, they should all be listed there or something is wrong.

I should have posted sooner but yes I resolved the issue, and it WAS because they were synched on mysqueezebox.com. Whenever the server is restarted, all the players are switched to my squeezebox.com as it closes and pulled back when it starts. I'm not sure if this is a setting in the server or in the SvrPowerSaver plugin (although I think it's the latter).
So it seems that the sync state isn't sent to mysqueezebox.com, but it is pulled back. Is this a bug?
Anyway, the solution was just to switch to mysqueezebox.com, unsync all the players, then switch back to my squeezebox server. Problem gone. The fact that I've had this issue for so long is probably a testament to just how little I use the players while connected to mysqueezebox.com! That's only because I have a nearly always on server though I suppose.
BTW the player count in the server info has gone up to 4, so it probably is linked somehow.

If someone were to write a nasty Squeezebox virus that caused the reversal of settings that were made months ago, an inability to connect to the network, disappearing players, and many more unexplained and unexpected behaviors, they couldn't do half as good a job as mysqueezebox.com.
Other than that, it's fine.
