It's available on Amazon.com, as are many of the other recordings. Numerous also on eBay.

Not that it matters but I think the broadcast royalty is different from the "copy of the song" royalty. Paying one doesn't give you a credit or entitle you to skip the other.

i'll be the first to admit that personally i don't care at all about user royalties, but if the RIAA were to ever go after a DJ or station for not paying an initial user royalty for something they broadcast, it would be a first afaik.

i've been in and out of radio for nearly 20 years; the RIAA, labels, artists, etc... don't care at all how you get the music, they just want it aired and they do get royalty benefits, esp if its reported to the journals but even if not.

in fact, some labels make it available to stations, for free on the net, at sites like:

    www.newmusicserver.com
    www.breakthecrates.com

my understanding has always been that the ASCAP/BMI/Sesac etc cover the stations as far as making copies, b/c whether they own the CD or not, they rip it into the computers for airplay. a lot of stations today don't even have hard copies, they just DL their music at their franchise from a central corporate server. i've seen label reps email links to mediafire and the like for when stations want serviced, (certainly cheaper for the label! they used to send music on CD, sometimes many copies, for free to stations, again showing no user royalty involved. some still do, but that small market stuff these days)

all i'm really trying to say is that as long as what i received went to air, it shouldn't be a problem. however i agree that if i took a copy or used it for my own personal usage only, that would break the law and be a dodge on the royalty.
