Couldn't see anything in the router logs but I'll take a closer look next time it happens. I've mostly seen it when an alarm has been playing on the Radio but that might just be because the Radio is in the bedroom and mostly used as an alarm clock.

    Hiya Erland,
Any chance of isolating the laptop away from the Radio to see if it is somehow interfering? Maybe try not using the alarm on Radio for a few days?

Dunno what else I can suggest. My Radio streams 24/7 via WiFi and never shows a red or blue icon. It will stop streaming a station after a long while, but never loses connection to server or router, at least it does not indicate so by the icon color. I do use two cordless phones (5.8 ghz and 2.4 ghz) and occasional WiFi laptop use right next to the Radio, it just doesn't disconnect (yet). I've never used any alarm on it, I don't even know how to set one.

Probably not the issue, but can you set a static IP address for the radio. This will exclude any DHCP issues.

I have only one WIFI connected player and it is a RADIO with about 75% WIFI strength. It is synched to my other players, and like Toby10, it never loses connection for months at a time, although I also don't use alarms on it.

I don't think it's the laptop because I switched off the wifi circuits on the laptop this morning and I'm still getting the same issue.

Nothing in the router log that indicates that it did a DHCP renewal but it might of course fail before it gets to the router.

However, I'm starting to think it's something with the network because this morning it failed to reconnect after restart also. At that time I tried to move it really close to the router and it was still not able to reconnect after a restart. It's just strange that all other WiFi devices works perfectly the only device I've seen problems with is the Radio. Maybe something is wrong with the WiFi circuits in my Radio.

I'm using 7.6 firmware at the moment so possibly it could have something to do with that, but I've had these problem earlier with 7.5 also, just not every morning as it seems to be at the moment.

Probably isn't your problem, but worth checking, what channel number is your router using when you drop off WiFi?

The Radio has intermittent support for channel 13 & 14 (literally random). If your router is always on 13, or set to auto, so may occasionally use 13, this would cause your problem. There is a resolution if this is your issue.

Thanks for the tips but I'm using channel 11 on the router so I don't think this is the problem.

Yep. If you are sure you are on channel 11 (any channel <12) it's a different problem. Good luck resolving it.

Just an update regarding this, I changed the WiFi channel on the router from 11 to 2 and now it has worked perfectly for several days in a row. I'm not convinced it's solved but it looks very promising.

Maybe the WiFi circuits on the Radio is more sensitive to disturbances then other WiFi devices I have and that's the reason why I only saw problems with the Radio.

drops wifi connection when left over night

I brought the squeezebox radio last week and I'm having problems with wifi. When turned off over night and switched back on the next day it looses wifi conection the icon is red and when looking at the signal strength under choose networks it is gray - no signal.

However if left for about 5 - 7 minuets the the signal slowly comes up and the radio connects. I have the Squeezebox touch and controller both do not suffer with wifi problems the radio is the only device on the network that has this problem.

    Any suggestions

    Thanks
