Location A and B are TWO DISPARATE NETWORKS. They use the SAME ISP, SAME ZIP CODE, but are on separate physical networks.
And in the way of follow-up. I have yet to see the error message as of late. I did not replace any hardware, mind you. Will continue to monitor situation.
Still, would like to know if error logs can be reviewed on the device in some manner.

OK. Good news it seems. I didn't dig back into the thread so forgot what you are running, but there are lots of logs related to the server, the scanner, etc. Go into SbS > settings > Advanced, then click in the menu dropdown and select "logging" and then you'll see lots of items. Choose "debug" as the most verbose. And don't forget to hit "apply" at right bottom of page.

I have now tried all of the above (including 7.5.4) and I'm still having the sporadic 'unable to connect' issue. In addition, I'm also experiencing a new issue. If I don't use any of my Squeezebox devices for some period of time (several hours perhaps) the display goes dark (i.e. no screensaver clock). When I hit the power button I get a message that says 'waking the server'. After 5 seconds or so, everything is fine. I've never had this happen before in the years that I have owned my Squeezeboxen.
Still stumped...Transporter > diyTube modified Dynaco ST-70 amplifier > JM Reynaud Euterpe speakers

I am getting exactly the same symptoms with my Boom. It worked perfectly up to a couple of weeks ago on 7.5.3. I've tried 7.5.4, rolled back to 7.5.2, installed, re-installed, factory reset, kept the default plug-ins, given it a new IP address etc etc and nothing has worked.
The only thing I haven't done is use a wired connection. I get 95% wireless signal strength, so I haven't bothered.

Other weird things that are happening when I get the "Can't connect to server" message on my Boom:
1. SBS shows my player has being connected, with the correct IP address and >95% signal.
2. SBS web control shows tracks or radio stations as playing, but they're not. I remember recently this happened with a radio station, which was set to play as the morning alarm. I put my ear very closely to the Boom - it was actually playing the station, but without any amplification. However, this particular issue hasn't since manifested itself.

Nope, assuming the problem I've been experiencing is the same as the one discussed here, it is far from fixed. I've been running the 7.5.4 (testing) for quite some time, and the dropouts have been rather frequent. At times there are only one second bursts of music with 15-20 seconds of rebuffering/connection errors.
Yesterday, I set my Classic right next to my Touch in the living room and synced them, and both seemed to have connection problems. Also, I had problems accessing the server GUI from my laptop during one of these prolonged pauses.
This leads me to believe that the problem is unstability in the server software, not in the firmware of the players.

Have you used something like inSSIDer with the time graph to see if it's you're wireless network that's dropping? I had problems with a old Actiontec wireless router where the wireless network would drop the signal for some time and then it would come back to life all by itself.
