    Wake-on-LAN still working?

I've posted this in MSB, as that's the firmware my Squeezebox mostly runs.
Is Wake-on-LAN still working at present? I can't seem to switch on my PC anymore.

How are you trying to send the packet? I'm on 7.5.3 and WOL is definitely working for me with the SB Duet Controller and via infrared remote of my SB2 and SB3. I don't recall for certain if it is working with Radio, Boom, and Touch, but I think it is.

    I'm on Squeezebox Classic.
I just try to connect to SBS which is hosted on my desktop PC.

When I get home tonight I'll test to confirm with my SB3/Classic, but I know WOL was working with it as of 2-3 weeks ago.

In the meantime, you could check your pc's BIOS settings to make sure something hasn't been changed. Or perhaps better, use a separate WOL utility to test it (this is assuming you have a pc available in addition to the one that's sleeping). I have a freeware Windows app that will send the WOL packet to the server. Or sometimes it is possible to send the WOL packet from your router's admin pages. That will help narrow down whether it's your pc or your SB that is giving the problems.

Just checked with my SB3 (firmware 132, SBS 7.5.3) and WOL worked fine. It does have the annoying bit where after you try switching from mysb.com to SBS it tells you it can't connect, but then you just have to hit the right button on the remote once again and it connects to SBS. I believe it's something about trying to connect too soon -- or really, giving up too soon -- after sending the WOL packet.

Btw, that freeware Windows WOL utility is called "WOL" and is available from http://www.simply-ware.com/

Funnily enough, the failure only started occuring when I tried using a third-party VNC app on my iPod (which also failed to wake up my PC).
Now my PC doesn't seem to like any client waking it up. *SIGH!*
