For no apparent reason my Boom has stopped connecting to the server overnight.
Tried uninstalling an re-installing, no luck. Tried updating to the 7.5, no luck.
Boom is on the network, and can connect to MSB. Can't access the server either from Boom, PC http or Openpeak frame.
Pissed off.
Update:
Installed a 7.6 nightly. Rebooted. Boom updated its firmware. Started working. Got halfway through two tracks and froze. Server did a scan. Boom reboted.
And the fun goes on.

Boom keeps dropping connection
Since I upgraded to SS Version: 7.5.3 - r31792 I've also had problems, however I also changed my wifi router at the same time so I don't really know which is the source of the problem. Basically the Boom keeps dropping the connection - either to radio station favourites on mysqueezebox.com or to spotify on SBS and gives the message "Unable to connect-press left to go back, right to try again". This can happen after a few minutes or a few hours. If I do try again I get the same message. If I unplug the Boom and try again it connects OK... until it happens again. I don't have any other wifi problems so I suspect the Boom - any suggestions appreciated.

That sounds very similar to what's been happening to mine since I've upgraded. Except that my Boom doesn't always connect again after I unplug it and then plug it back in.
So now when it drops my connection, I press the "back arrow" key and hold it down until the menu screen comes up to allow me to switch servers. After I switch servers, the Boom seems to play again for a while. If that server then disconnects, I go through the same process ... I just keep switching back and forth when what I'm listening to goes down.
I guess I should mention that I'm a real newbie to all of this (as if it isn't obvious) ... so I don't have a good understanding of what I'm doing yet. I just try to get by however I can when things aren't working.

How do you mean "switch servers"? Do you mean between MSB and SBS?
After I posted my previous mail I came across a long thread at <http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85474> which (maybe) addresses our problems. They suggest downgrading to 7.5.2 or up to 7.5.4 (although I think that may just work for SBS?). I guess I'll give that a try if I can work out how to do it - I'm a newbie too!

This is getting ridiculous. If I get the boom to find the server and start playing, it will lose the connection when I try to change the song or playlist. Complete waste. Is there a viable fix yet?
edit: Downgraded to 7.5.1 and it has worked all day without a hitch.Last edited by mpunt; 2011-03-13 at 15:10.

If you're brave going to 7.6 has been working fine since my last post.

I am very brave, but if I go to 7.6 and for some reason it does not work fine for me, can I backtrack to 7.5.4?
P.S. I have read the change log for 7.6, but it is in some technical jargon which I do not understand for the most part. In lay terms, what are the improvements that come in 7.6? Thanks for the answers.!
P.S.S. I absolutely LOVE the Squeeze system.
