I have Squeezebox Duet and would like to add my 2nd Receiver to the setup.
The only way I managed to accomplish this was to factory reset the Controller and during its setup process I had the possibility to discover and setup the 2nd Receiver.
After completing the setup, I can now see both Receivers.
Question: Is there another way to setup the Receiver from the Controller without doing a factory reset?
(I started out using Net-UDAP and it apparently worked fine, but once a day my 2nd Receiver disappeared from my "Choose Player" menu and from the SqueezeboxServer's web interface and to get it back I had to cycle its power. So instead I ended up factory resetting the Controller to configure the 2nd Receiver from there.)

Setup/configure 2nd Receiver

There is no need to factory reset the Controller. It can stay as it is.
What you need to do is:
1. Press and hold the button on the front of the new receiver until it flashes red rapidly.
2. On the controller go to the "choose player" item. There you will see two receivers, the usual name of your first one and another name something like "Receiver 25a612". This is the player you want to configure. The numbers/characters in the name are part of the Reciever's MAC address.
3. Select this player and it will then ask you a set of questions to connect it to your network (whether wired or wireless, the SSID of your wireless network, and so on).
You will then be connected. Nothing should have happened to your Controller!Matt

Your suggestion is exactly what I have already tried. However, the "Choose Player" menu item was not available until the 2nd player had been setup. I have read other post about people who could also not find the "Choose Player" menu item when trying to setup their 2nd Receiver.
Ok, so now I factory reset the Controller as well and managed to configure my receiver.
Anyway, thank you for the reply. I appreciate it.

Good tip, thanks for the heads up.
I was confused by this procedure myself when I first set up my second Receiver - but I remember it showed up in the "choose player" menu eventually.
Logitech really should document this sort of stuff formally somewhere. It should not rely on the user community to sort it out.
[EDIT]
I have just realised why I had the "choose player" menu item even though I only had one Receiver. I had enabled the beta function that enables you to play audio on the Controller through the headphone jack. This effectively makes the Controller another player, so you can choose between the Receiver and the Controller. That meant when I got the new Receiver the choose player menu was already there.
Presumably the same thing would happen if you were running SqueezePlay on a PC too.

gcurrie is correct - it takes time for the new receiver to show up in the list. I found that rebooting the controller usually made the new receiver show up in the list. If this is due to the action of rebooting the controller or just the amount of time it takes to reboot the controller, I don't know; I never experimented furhter to fully characterize it. I was just happy to find something that worked :-).

2nd Receiver OK but still no sound
Found configure 2nd receiver OK and it now goes through exactly the same lamp changes as the first one including dull and bright for pause/play but nothing from either digital or analogue outputs. Must it be US or could it be something else?
