    SP_Tonido_Image_V3.50 released

    Hi Folks,
SP_Tonido_Image_V3.50 is released! Thanks a lot to Jasper !!!

    Releae Notes:
    - Image contains an embedded version of Tonido (version 2.25) so tonido admin is not available
    - Make a backup of your profile folder (you can use samba or the winscp program) on your PC (the profile folder is the folder with the name of your profile, and is located in /usr/local/tonido/approot/profiles when using a previous version of squeezeplug for Tonido and in /root/app/tonido/approot/profiles when using the tonido root filesystem on the internal flash of your tonidoplug)
    - If you don't make a backup of your profile folder you can not re-use your TonidoID !!!
    - when running the plug from the usb image copy the profilefolder to the
new location: /usr/local/tonido/approot/profiles and reboot your device
    - You have to set a tonido user data directory, I created a folder named tonidodata in the rootfs structure for this. Make sure you have enough space on your usb device to hold all of this data in the tonidodata directory, otherwise relocate this folder somewhere else.

    Greetings,
    Thomas

Sorry, the GoFlex home is not supported. I hope to support GoFlex Net soon.

The latest ALSA squeezeslave for armel is available from the squeezeslave googlecode site.

A complete newbie question here: when updating the image for the Dockstar is there any need to uninstall anything before re-launching in to the installation process? I assume not, based on the absence of release notes, comments in the Wiki, and the numerous examples where this has been referred to on the previous thread without any mention of precautions.

(I'll take it that it is a stupid obvious question if I get no reply!)

You are right! Just override the stick with the new image.

    Second HD attached to Dockstar

    Thanks Thomas,
it was a feature of Squeezecenter, not Sheevaplug!
But I have another question: it is possible to attach another USB HD to see it on my network? I try to attach another one but on the network (windows samba) it's invisible. I don't know linux so much to find the answer by myself but I would like to use the Dockstar also for his original purpose.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Ciao, Riccardo

Yes, you can attach more than one HD but be careful because of the power they will need. I'm not sure whether the powersupply is able to deliver the power needed by the 2 HD's. You have to alter the /etc/smb.conf file to see the other HD from other PC`s via samba. Take a look at this file and make a second entry.

    A sheevaplug has been purchased

    Hello again,

I finally caved in and today purchased the standard sheevaplug with the esata port, as well as a 4GB SD card.

Looking on the wiki it seems i have 2 choices to get squeezeplug installed, using either the sheevaimage or the sheevainstaller. What would be best for me? My linux knowledge is pretty sketchy, although i will be wanting to set up a samba server on it using my external usb disk.

Any advice on what way to go would be much appreciated!

    Thanks
