Clock no longer displayed when turned off

Since the recent update (7.5.3 I think) my boom just shows a blank screen when switched off rather than the clock as it used to.

    How can I fix this?

I have the same problem on two touch units and that doesn't fix it.

Web UI > Settings > Player tab > Display (drop down) > Power Off Brightness.

    Or

On the Boom > Settings > Display > Brightness > While Off.

same problem here. one of my booms was fine and the other just stopped showing the clock on whilst off.
played with the display and everything related and nothing would fix it.
logged onto squeezebox.com and then back onto squeezebox home and that cured it.

I have this problem now also (running 7.5.3). My squeezebox 3 has worked fine for years but recently I find it often completely blank and it does not respond to the remote. I have to power reset it at which point I can use the remote to connect to my PC and navigate around. However, when I connect it back to sb.com it (usually) goes blank again. Sometimes it states it wants to update the firmware from sb.com. If I do that then it wants to update the firmware immedidately I switch back to my PC. Both versions of firmware still result in the blank display.

So my sb is stuffed atm. Any ideas? My boom seems ok.

    Similar issue

I have the same issue on one unit, But on a SB2 player the clock works fine, but I get a brief flicker every 10-20 seconds or so. It looks like a quick error message is scrolled across the screen, but to quick to actually read it.

After posting here yesterday I changed my linux deb from stable to testing and upgraded from 7.5.3 to squeezeboxserver 7.5.4~32150. Then I connected my SB3 and it upgraded its firmware to v133 (don't remember what it was before). After that, it seems my SB3 is now ok. It will switch fine between my pc and mysb.com without a blank screen and without constantly asking to upgrade the firmware.

So, (for the next punter that comes along here?), it seems that there was a recent problem with my SB3 "stable" firmware and mysb.com.

It did it a couple of times for me again, but not recently. I found that if you just change the brightness settings it comes back. Though the settings are right.

I haven't seen the problem in a while though. The times I have seen it is when my server was powered off and then powered on again.

For the next bunny that comes along with this problem, I am sure it is related to the fact that you are running an incompatible version of squeezeboxserver compared to mysb.com. E.g. this problem started happening to me again in the last couple of weeks and I fixed it by changing my version of squeezeboxserver. See my post here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...t=89103&page=3.

Until now, I did not know that mysb.com users had to coordinate their squeezeboxserver versions with the mysb.com site.
