It makes it easier to navigate the forum, and lessens the probability of senseless repeating of previously discussed topics. Hopefully.

I think it's a subtle reminder that one of the best ways to get help is through the forums' search function.

As for your direct experience, I feel 100% confident in saying that the problem is not "the wireless signal being too strong". Maybe it's certain radio stations, maybe it's something else. Too hard to say given the sketchy information provided.

If it was a subtle reminder aimed at me it wouldn't have helped. Neither of the threads listed is of any further help, and I've actually contributed to one of them in the past.

Please help fix my Disco Bug !!!

But it has to be short, about the same size as the funky bass loop (~300k).

That's the band-aid solution. The real solution is to get your connectivity straightened out. Are you using mysqueezebox.com or Squeezebox Server running on your home network?

I have been affilcted with the Disco Bug for two years with no solution. As a newbie can you give me a paint by numbers fix to the above solution ? A million thank you's -

In the beginning i had this fallback alarm a few times a week. But since i changed the alarm time from 6:00 to 5:57 (a suggestion i found on the internet) i have no problems anymore. It works for me.
The idea was that it is too busy on the mysqueezebox.com server at the exact hour, so the radio activates his internal fallback alarm.

Are you running Windows? If so, then WinSCP will be easier than ssh, esp for a self-described newbie.

Also note that as stated before, getting the fallback alarm is symptomatic of a different problem, namely not being able to connect to the stream/file you selected for your alarm.

Yes I am running windows 7 64 bit. I have talked with Dlink and the modem checks out fine. All my internet radio stations play fine except when called upon as an alarm. The radio times out then defaults to Fa Fa Fa by Datarock ( Disco Bug)

    Grrrr
