    Exclamation On NSA 310

NSA 310 in my SBS works well ... when he wants.

I don't know why, but my squeezebox touch often can not connect to the NAS and only after a few reboots can.

I have followed the wise advice given above.

It seems that we make ends meet new Zyxel firmware. I'll tell you ...

Did you try to interface with a web browser? See if it sees the SB touch (I have no experience with SB touch). Try playing music through a web browser through squeezeplay.

    Check the log files.
Squeezebox Server: Version: 7.7.1 on Zyxel NAS NSA310
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.0 with Custom Browse & Triodes Spotify
on Win XP Pro SP.3. All updates.
Squezebox Duet, Android controllers. 100 GB library, 800- Albums, 13,5 k tracks.

Music manager: MediaMonkey. The best music mgr for classical music (much better then iTunes). Now with "RegExp Find and Replace" you even can batch edit tags with regular expressions.

New version os SB (LMS) for Zyxel NAS

On the site ftp://ftp2.zyxel.com/NSA221/zypkg/ you can find new versions of some Zyxel packages. A.o. Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.1.

Follow installation instructions of http://www.zyxel.com/nl/nl/support/k...il_12271.shtml. Installation was a breeze. You probably will have to rescan your library. [I did.] Custom Browse and Spotify still don't work.

Oh, ftp://opensource.zyxel.com/ contains the sources for the Zuxel Nas's, but not for the NSA 3xx.

    Thanks for your interest.
The problem is that the server stops, and that's why you can not access, or from the squeezebox touch, or web browser.
Plays multiple tracks and then stop it, for no reason and have to reboot.
    I'm a newbie.
    Anyway, I will continue trying.

What plugins do you have installed? Custom Browse has given me similar problems.

I assume that you have found out that the only way to restart SB/LMS is through the web based Zyxel control panel. Disable and re-enable the package.

I think I also once solved a problem by uninstalling and re-installing the package. Of course with a rescan of the lib. I think necessary to get rid of an plugin completely.

    Good luck.

I have squeeze server running on a squeezeplug with an attached usb drive. Recently I bought a zyxel nsa 221 and I was trying to use that as storage for the squeezplug.( I do not want to run squeeze server on the zyxel).

I find the default folders music/public etc are only visible on windows. I can create nfs shares but what I would like to have my music on the same folder so I can mount it on the squeezeplug (using nfs) as well as see it on dnla compliant devices.

    Is this possible ?

Nfs is a package on the Zyxel you have to enable. I have no experience with it.

I have nfs enabled. I'm familiar with nfs. Perhaps I didn't explain properly but I would like the default folders like music, public etc be available as nfs shares so I don't have to make multiple copies of the same folders one for samba one for nfs etc.

hi, i want to connect this ZyXEL NSA310 with logitech media server/sqeezcentre installed (haven't bought one yet) to SBT via network cable, instead of having the NAS connected to router and SBT connected wirelessly. i have read that the sound quality is improved further by direct connection.
however, by doing this i would have to select wired connection on the SBT and i guess this would disable the internet connection. so would the SBT still function without wifi/internet connection, as the zyxel has no ability to add a usb wifi dongle?
if possible, could someone with zyxel plug the NAS direct into SBT to see if it still functions (without wifi/internet). i don't wanna spend out on it if it doesn't work, i want to be sure, not just with responses from people who 'think' it'll work (no offence anyone else). i just want a stand alone player without internet (with only a hard drive connected, the built in squeeze server functions quite slowly, so i want to have the NAS with server installed to take the load off SBT). and also report back if, as others have said, there's improvement in sound quality. cheers
