Great American Main Street Band -- Silks and Rags

Every once in a while when searching for something undemanding but excellent to listen to, I turn to this group of mainly symphony musicians doing the kind of music heard in small town squares a hundred years ago. Expertly done, nicely entertaining, a treat. I prefer this one to the other I have, Under The Big Top, which is classic circus music.

I was having trouble getting some of the Boby Darrin tracks I remembered from the sixties so I got this.

Many of his well known songs sung well in CD quality.

Bought the Atlantic Soul Legends 20 original albums box set to replace some of the crackly vinyl recordings in my collection.

2nd hand Ebay sales are fantastic value.

This one sounds a lot better than the worn out version it replaced:

I've played T.Rex's Electric Warrior and The Slider a couple of times since watching Mark Bolan: Cosmic Dancer last night on BBC4. Bolan died 40 years ago today at 29.
