i have a home office ,basically 10 by 10 feet with a Squeezebox
Touch and Cambridge Dacmagic. Im looking for biamplified speakers
with volume control that will sit about 3 feet from me on a large desk.
I listen to mostly rock, jazz, electronica. Ive read reviews on Adam,Genelec,
Mackie, etc.Sadly I dont live in a area where I can't audition these type of
speakers(cause noone has them)
I need some suggestions, with my setup,on what speakers would best fit.I need
speakers with balanced analog inputs.
Thanks!

The Genelecs are great for rock/jazz...
You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
Touch(wired/W7)+Teddy Pardo PSU - Audiolense 3.3/2.0+INGUZ DRC - MF M1 DAC - Linn 5103 - full Aktiv 5.1 system (6x LK140's, ESPEK/TRIKAN/KATAN/SEIZMIK 10.5), Pekin Tuner, Townsend Supertweeters,VdH Toslink,Kimber 8TC Speaker & Chord Signature Plus Interconnect cables
Stax4070+SRM7/II phones
Kitchen Boom, Outdoors: SB Radio, Harmony One remote for everything.

I just looked at the Adam specs and they are not
Magnetically shielded . That's a deal breaker as I have lots
Of equipment in that office that could interfere with them .
Phil, your costing me alot of money ! Lol.

They dynaudio monitors don't really have a volume control. They only have a small adjustment switch for max level.
This is going to be very hard in the class of equipment you want.
Internally bi-amped monitors that have volume controls will have them per monitor. This means you will have to adjust both monitors to change the volume.
Why not just use the volume control of the Squeezebox? Volume control done in the digital domain (24 bits) is arguably better (and is going to be better stereo matched with bi-amped monitors) than the control done in the analog domain.

Genelec have a very good reputation. I have a friend that's a professional musician - he does music for films, commercials, etc. as well as fronting a band - and he uses them for monitors in his studio. He plays various acoustic instruments primarily.
