Did you specify a playlist directory ?
You do that in settings basic right where you spec your music directory.
Without this sbs can not save playlists.
If u have a playlist dir can sbs write to it ? (permissions)--------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like permissions. The playlist directory has to be writeable by user 'squeezeboxserver'. Same for any existing playlist files that you might possibly want to edit. And of course, user 'squeezeboxserver' has to be able to read the playlist directory and all of these files, too.
