The options you're using for tagging are all specific to flac.exe. With lame.exe you use options like
--ta "%artist%" --tt "%title%"

The other thing you'll probably want to control is whether you want IDv2, IDv1, or both. You may want to add

If you mean the missing tab in "4. Appendix: The LAME DLL Tab" I just added the dll to my EAC folder and didn't get it either. I think that functionality may have been depreciated somewhere along the way; that tutorial is a bit dated. As to "improvement", the encoder has been tuned to the point that most people get great results using -V0 or -V2 VBR. If you want CBR, just use -b 256.
