Thanks for the tip on the controller! I'm still considering the Transporter though. That and the Classic are the last of the Originally designed "Slim Devices" products before Logitech took over. Having another DAC in the Transporter can't harm too.
On a positive note: With the Touch, I've been able to add songs to the end of the playlist with a single button press by default! I wasn't aware of the "Beta" options in the settings menu that assigns such shortcuts. Hope more such shortcuts show up in the months to come. I would very much like the "browseArtist" and "BrowseAlbums" buttons as mentioned many times before.
Another thing I'd like added is to have more control over font size. The "Small Text Skin" (5 lines to a page) are too small to read from further than 6 feet and the "Large Text Skin" (3 lines to a page) are too large and even medium-lengthed song titles have to scroll through in order to be fully read. A nice new middle sized text would be good (4 lines to a page maybe?) The Classic had three sizes of font to select.
I also hope they add the option to remove thumbnail coverart when browsing through albums. I no coverart (and I think many other users don't either) and the blank CD icon when browsing album lists is taking up precious horizontal space. I have to scroll to see the full title of an album that is more 3 to 4 words long.
On a more negative note: Scanning or fast forwarding/rewinding though a song is a PITA with the Touch!!! Here is where the lag of the Touch really starts to piss me off! It's not just the lag which makes scanning difficult but the logic of the 4 fast forward/skip forward etc buttons. Try getting to before 5 seconds of a specific part of a song (eg. the 2m 10s part of a song) and you'll see what I mean!
As far as scanning is concerned, the Classic makes better use of the 4 dedicated forward/rewind/skip forward/skip back buttons. The Classic isn't perfect with its use of these buttons but it's acceptable. The Touch on the other hand does not seem to know the difference between fast forward/skip forward and rewind/skip backwards. Those of us with Universal Remotes will know what I mean.

I've not actually downloaded the plugin to try it out but from what I'm reading, it doesn't do what I want it to do. If it could transfer the playlist from Classic to Touch and control all playback functions of the Touch (using the Classic), then that would be good. I need that because both the Classic and Touch are in the same room and the Touch has its IR receiver blocked. Transferring the playlist from Classic to Touch, then switching over to the Touch for direct playback control is not an option because then I'd have to physically remove the IR blocker from the Touch, then place it on the Classic.
I'm trying to get used to direct control of the Touch now.

it uses the same UI, but battery powered
