Elapsed time?

On my SB Classic, I can set Now Playing to show the elapsed time (or remaining time) of the track, which is useful o me, as I often play long items.

The Radio has a line, with a moving dot to indicate time.

Is there some way of getting the actual time elapsed?

I have the same issue. Has anyone every found a setting or a fix for this?

Nothing shows on the screen as you noted except the moving dot. However if you push the fast forward button once, a timeline will pop up in a box showing how far you are into the track or podcast.

It will not actually fast forward unless you push the FF button again while the timeline box is on the screen, so if you want to know where you are in the piece, just push the FF button once. It will stay on the screen for a few seconds and then disappear again.
