SBS 7.6: please test automatic artwork download

Do you always get these? We had some server issues last week which might have caused this error.

Has something changed with the artwork downloading? I'm getting:

for every new album now. I think it may be trying to tell me something, but since it deletes the temp file immediately, I never get to see it.

This version of SBS is a month or so old, but I grabbed the nightly from last Friday and that seems to have the same problem.

Did you configure your SBS to be using test.mysb.com?

Hi,

I had not added that configuration line because I though the drop down for auto-complete artwork box had superseded this (just an assumption I had made).

I have added the line:

use_sn_test:1

as the last line of my server.prefs file but when I restarted the server it gave an error, something about a missing init section I think. Squeezecenter does start up but it is unresponsive and resets the server.prefs file. It seems to wander off and do something but does not appear to be downloading artwork (checked artwork download folder).

I still have the auto-complete artwork option selected. Is there anything else I could have missed or gotten wrong? Is that the only thing I need to change?


BTW I love your SlimNAS work but had to move away from it because the use of UFS filesystem was such a PITA.

What would that error message be? It might tell us what's wrong...

Hi,

Thanks, I got it working. Not sure what made the difference. The editor I was using was nano which defaults to line wrap on. So I changed that. Also added a space after the : Finally I notices my login was not saved so I added it manually to the server.prefs file.

Seems to be downloading artwork now.

My server (r31878 on XP) does the following:

On the information tab it displays:

Scanning new files (1 of 1) Complete 00:00:01
Downloading Artwork (4127 of 4127) Complete 00:00:06
Discovering files (23 of 23) Complete 00:00:02
The server has finished scanning your music collection.
Total Time: 00:00:09 (Wednesday, February 9, 2011 / 7:00 AM)

However, the Cache\DownloadedArtwork directory is empty.

The prefs file contains these lines:

use_sn_test: 1
username: ''

Perhaps the problem is the missing username?

Update: I entered the email address I used to register at mysqueezebox after username: (between the apostrophes), but the scanner log says
