Hi,
Sounds like quite a big leap from 0.7.1 to 0.7.2...
Any chance of having a 0.7.2 compatible version on SlimNAS released in the near future, or should I try to find a copy of a LiveCD i386 0.7.1 somewhere?

Sure I'd like to keep it alive. But this won't happen before the Holidays.

SlimNAS fails to start after install onFreeNAS
> Guess there's no new news on Freenas 0.7.2 support?
Latest news: I just installed a fresh 0.7.2, installed SlimNAS 2.0.1 on top of it, running SBS 7.5.2 without any glitch so far.

Which SBS package did you install (full file name)?

Hi,
Thanks for giving it a try. Sounds like there's a chance to get SBS up and running after all.
I tried a number of files. Based on your post I gave 7.5.2 a try. Here's a more detailed description of what I tried:
* Downloaded squeezeboxserver-7.5.2.tgz from http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download and copied it to the installation folder.
* Opened the freenas web interface, navigated to Extensions -> Squeezebox server
* Changed "Keep existing" to squeezeboxserver-7.5.2.tgz.
* Saved
* After a while I get "The changes have been applied successfully." and "Squeezebox Server is starting but not ready yet. Please check again in a bit...". When I update the status I get "Squeezebox Server is not available. Please note that it might take a minute or more for the service to be available after a restart. Please refresh this page to check the status again."
I have no idea what goes wrong here. Is there a log file or something I could inspect?
If I try to start slimserver.pl directly I get:
freenas:/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/slimserver# perl slimserver.pl
The following modules failed to load: DBI DBD::mysql EV XML::Parser::Expat HTML::Parser JSON::XS Digest::SHA1 YAML::Syck GD Sub::Name

NOTE:
If you're running some unsupported Linux/Unix platform, please use the buildme.sh
script located here:
http://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/sli...k/vendor/CPAN/
You should never need to do this if you're on Windows or Mac OSX. If the installers
don't work for you, ask for help and/or report a bug.
If 7.5 is outdated by the time you read this, Replace "7.5" with the major version
of Squeezebox Server you are running.

Exiting..

A bit more information. I checked the modified the start command based on thefunctions.inc file.
Here's what I get with the modified start command:
[root@freenas /mnt/wasabi/slimnas]# HOME=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/ PAR_GLOBAL_CLEAN=1 TEMP=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/var/squeezebox/Cache TMPDIR=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/var/squeezebox/Cache /usr/local/bin/perl /mnt/wasabi/slimnas/squeezebox/slimserver.pl --user=www --daemon --pidfile=/mnt/wasabi/slimnas/var/squeezebox.pid
Your locale was detected as C, you may have problems with non-Latin filenames. Consider changing your LANG variable to the correct locale, i.e. en_US.utf8
Killed: 9
Again no reason for why the process is killed.. I'm running my HP t5700 with only 256MB of RAM. Could this perhaps be the problem?

Yes. Please enable swapping in FreeNAS.

Don't know. It requires quite some work for which I don't have the time. Any good reason why you have to use the 64 bit version?

I had some problems with GEOM Raid5 before and had to use ZFS instead. I was told that AMD64 is better for ZFS but soon realized that your slimnas doesn't work on it

Thanks anyway for creating the slimnas extension for freenas. Looks awesome from the screenshots. I'm surprised that not a lot of people uses freenas+SBS combo.
