Problems connecting Squeezebox player to wifi network

I have a Equeezebox Duet which has been working for abut 2 years. Suddenly the player has stopped seeing my wifi network (though I've made no changes to it). I did the factory reset while it was connected wired to the router and the procedure described earlier worked fine. Trying it while it is not wired does not work. My laptop finds a network "logitech-squeeze-00042016247C" i.e the full mac address of the player but the controller cannot see that network. The led on the player is flashing red slowly. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. If the player is broken can it be fixed?

Your reciever is in setup mode slowly flashing red ?

The wifi you see with the laptop is the reciever trying to connect with the controller in adhoc mode (directly receiver controller), are you close to the reciever you want to set up ?
it was a long time ago i did it, is it not a setup reciever menu if use choose player ?

Mayby a last resort would be to factory reset the controller and redo the whole initial setup :-/

    Are you on 7.5.1
    sbs

Your controler should then be on 7.5.1 r8885 software there was a bug preventing setup to finish in an earlier version.

Also there is an utility called "net udap" (search this forum )that can set up an receiver via the Ethernet port from a pc it's a command line tool not exactly p&p but it is working , after setup restart it where you want it (wired or wifi)

    Hi there
Sometimes this is caused by conflict of IP addresses - you won't actually SEE the IP address in conflict but I've had this problem when using the Router on DHCP.

What I suggest is that you assign FIXED addressed for your actual REAL computers and set the DHCP in your router to assign addresses starting say at 192.168.0.11 (or whatever your Router address range is.

So you could ensure for example that your Desktop running the server is always at address 192.168.0.2, a Laptop is at address 192.168.0.4 and any Squeeze device connected will start from a different IP address assigned by the router.

Before I did this I sometimes found my squeezebox wanted IP 192.168.0.2 which was the same as my desktop server so it COULDN'T work.

    Cheers

    Receiver won't reset

I also have a receiver with the symptoms described earlier in this thread. It was working fine for a long while, then I reset it to change the parameters and ever since it has been stuck on slow flashing red. The factory 'apply power whilst holding the button' test described above has no effect and it is not broadcasting any wifi signal. Also when I plug an ethernet cable in the socket the LEDs around the socket do not light up like they do on my other one, so it seems that both wireless and wired network are dead.
If anybody has any ideas how to get this working again I'd really appreciate it.

    Any luck

    Hi,

I am now experiencing the same problems as others

    - Stuck on slow flashing red
    - Factory reset does not kick in
    - Wired set up does not seem to work either
    - No lights in back end when network cable applied
    - Holding button and powering up does not cycle through the colors / do the sound test
    - I have fixed the IP for this Mac address in my router

This recived used to work - Ive seen it on mysqueezebox.com (and I've now deleted that record)

    Any help anyone ?

    Thanks

    Steve

Take the receiver apart, carefully remove and replace the wireless card. This has worked for me on 2 different receivers.

Linux finally gets a great audio tagger: puddletag - now packaged in most Linux distributions.

    Hello,

I'm a french customer and i buy a squeezebox duet.
During the first configuration i have the same problem.
Red slow flash light and no possibility to connect on my controler, and impossible to me to make hard reset on the receiver.
The light on the ethernet socket is no lighting whith a ethernet cable and my switch detect any connection.

After have read this thread i want try to change the wireless card on the receiver.

Have you got the reference of this card and approximatively the price.

    Thanks.
