Webserver skin for iPad

As a newcomer to SBS, I am still wondering if I can I use your nice tablet skin as an alternative skin on my Mac OS 10.5 desktop, and be able to save a different bookmark link to select between this tablet skin the standard SBS player interface. Would this tablet skin simply float in the middle of my larger Monitor canvas, surrounded by black?

btw, I am using Safari 4.2 with Mac OSX 10.5.8--would I have any trouble using your skin with this slightly older version of Safari? I've been reluctant to upgrade to Safari 5 .

You can specify the skin to use, without having to change the server configuration, by specifying the server URL and appending the name of the skin to the server URL, so for instance if your Squeezebox Server is at 192.168.1.11, you could browse to 'http://192.168.1.11:9000/Tablet' to use the tablet skin, or 'http://192.168.1.11:9000/Default' to use the standard skin, and similar for any other skin you have installed.

The tablet skin should work with Safari 4.2, but I don't have any way to test that myself, so you should just try and see. If you specify the skin in the URL as described above you can try it out and see how it works without having to change the Interface setting in the server configuration, making it easy to switch back if you need to.

Found this gr8 skin today, many thx for the amazing effort. One question i cant seem to find the answer to: is there a way to customzie the home screen? I never use the random feature, but like to have direct acces to my dynamoc playlists for instance. Is this possible to change?

Something seems to not work properly here, when choosing "Artists" from the home screen, I only get a list # ... D and no more. There's no way to choose a different range of starting letters for the list. I de/reinstalled the plugin, no difference. Same for Albums.

I'm running 7.6 nightly.

I'm very fond of this skin, and would like to have it back working soon

Edit: Not sure if SBS has changed, the Tablet skin has changed or I have changed some setting that might have caused this. Any help welcome.

Big changes are being made to 7.6 that will break existing skins. Search for the thread talking about "onebrowser".

There isn't a way to customise the home screen. However some of the buttons are added by plugins, so you can remove the Random button by disabling the 'Random Mix' plugin on your server.

I'm not currently running 7.6 - I tried an earlier version and had problems so gave up - but I will try and update the skin at some point.

Edit: However I did see this post (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...ght=onebrowser) that indicates that onbrowser would be pulled from the final 7.6 (which may be released around June).

SqueezeboxServer 7.6 has been released. All skins except Default and Classic have been removed. The only skin remaining for tablets is the Touch skin.

However, the Touch skin seems to work only partially. I assume this is due to the changes in 7.6.
Are there any plans to update Touch to 7.6?

My wife is severely handicapped and uses a special touchscreen PC (Fujitsu+Windows). In the docs, it says that Touch works on Safari. I assume that FF wouldn't impose a problem for Touch skin, is that right?

Are you still fixing issues with the excellent Tablet Skin that you developed? If so, there appears to be a problem with the skin in Logitech Media Server 7.7. If you go to Home, Playlists, the only icons that appear next to the playlist names are the Hearts (Save). The other buttons aren't there at all. Oddly enough, the problem does not exist on the current playlist screen. This problem only appeared on my system after upgrading from v7.6 to v7.7.
