Thanks for the help.

You cannot install slimserver on your iPad. You either need to install it on some computer (which you typically do to play your local music) and then can install this skin On that computer to operate your squeezebox from the iPad via Safari.
Or you just search your AppStore or this forum for SqueezePad which gives you a far better and faster experience and remote for your Squeezebox
Did you know: SqueezePlayer will stream all your music to your Android device. Take your music everywhere!
Remote Control + Streaming to your iPad? Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad
Want to see a Weather Forecast on your Radio/Touch/Controller ? => why not try my Weather Forecast Applet
Want to use the Headphones with your Controller ? => why not try my Headphone Switcher Applet

C'mon. Maybe he wants to stream _from_ the iPad. Would not get happy with SqueezePad or iPeng for iPad then.
This is the DIY forum.
Somewhere on the web there was an instruction on how to install SlimServer 6.x on an old iPhone (jailbroken), maybe the iPad has enough horsepower and RAM to run SBS.
You won't get happy with too many additional apps while it runs, though, Squeezebox Server's memory footprint is significant.---

Just read the original threadtitle "webserver skin for iPad" and interpreted the post that someone thought he had to install SB-Server on the iPad to get the webserver skin working.
So pis99, you see us confused about what you really want to do

You could try to install perl and then use the Unix tarball
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.6
I'd definitely use 7.6 and I'd also try the "TinySC" options (they are just startup options for the same server) since that reduces the memory footprint significantly.
Processor performance should be more than good enough for SBSLast edited by pippin; 2010-11-26 at 05:35.
