    Webserver skin for iPad

I've been working on a skin that works better on the iPad than the standard ones. If you are interested you can download it here:

    http://www.simulacrum.net.nz/squeeze/

There is also a couple of screenshots, so you can see what it looks like. It is not finished, as I have mainly worked on the things I use most often, but I hope to improve it over time, and I will post update notifications here.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or find things that don't work properly, please post detail here.

    Simon.

    Webserver skin for iPad

    Simon,

didn't look at the skin in detail. But you might simplify your skin
greatly by inheriting most code from Nokia770 or Touch skins. Just look at
Touch's skinconfig.yml how it is done. You won't need to include all those
    files in your skin.

I started doing it that way, but I found it easier to work out how it all hung together by cloning the Nokia770 skin and hacking bits and pieces to see what I could achieve. Stuff is often pulled from several files, and at times it was difficult to identify where a feature or pieces of a page were coming from.

I have been thinking that if I end up using it a lot, I might try going in and cleaning up stuff like the heavily nested tables that the Nokia skin uses.

This is really nice! Great job! Thanks!

BTW, the place to put the "Tablet" folder in Windows systems is:

    c:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\HTML

You can put that on your web site if you like, it'll help some people out.

    I'm glad you like it!

And thanks, I've added the Windows install info to the web page.

I'm doing some more changes to the skin. I'm not sure when it will be ready, but I will post again here when it is ready for download.

I really do like it a lot, now I doubt I'll even bother with iPeng when it's ready!

Fyi, for Linux, the installation location in debian/Ubuntu and derivatives is:
    /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/HTML/

I did notice one issue with the latest version: When streaming Internet radio all that is reported on the web interface "Now Playing" screen is the station you're streaming. The artist and track title are not reported.

I could have sworn that the previous version reported the artist and title, though to be honest I can't be 100% certain.

Is there any way for the web interface now playing screen to report this info? The Squeezebox's now playing screen reports the artist and title without issue, and they are being scrobbled OK to Last.FM...

Apart from this little issue I really love it! Thanks!
