Hello,
I just got a new portable/USB drive yesterday and moved my music collection onto the USB drive and plugged it into the Touch. As I was doing so I noticed 7.5.1 was available and upgraded to that. Then proceeded with the start of SBS on the Touch & allowed it to scan to completion.
After moving my Squeezebox Server to be TinySC on the touch instead of running it on my home workstation, I am seeing horrible resolution for album artwork - as if the smallest album artwork (icons) is being stretched to be the now playing artwork. I see this horrible resolution album artwork on the now playing for iPeng, Squeezebox Radio, and Squeezeplay. I never had this issue on 7.5.0 and using my Workstation as the SBS. Also I have a mixture of WMAs with the album artwork integrated into music files and MP3s where I have a cover.jpg in the directory - both types of albums are suffering from this problem.
Does anybody have any idea what I might be able to do to fix this or maybe I should be opening a bug report?
Thank you,
-Dan

Horribly low resolution album artwork w/ TinySC and 7.5.1

Looks like maybe it is using and trying to stretch out the AlbumArtSmall.jpg or AlbumArt_{6D2583BF-582C-4668-9AE5-2E29F8500FE7}_Small.jpg in each album's directory instead of the AlbumArt_{A2A5C5EA-FFCB-424D-9AE9-7F392C53BA53}_Large.jpg or cover.jpg.
Not sure how I can fix this... I can't swallow going through 1400+ albums and removing any smaller JPGs... this worked fine before I went to TinySC & 7.5.1.

If you don't have one of the standard image filenames in the directory like cover.jpg or folder.jpg it will pick the first one alphabetically. Maybe that's the problem?

andyg,
Thanks very much for the response.
In the case of Natalee Merchant's Tigerlily album for example I do have a cover.jpg in the directory along with the other images - but it is not showing artwork at that higher 500x500 resolution (looks a loooot worse than that).
Also if TinySC is going by name and ignoring cover.jpg for whatever reason, AlbumArt_xxxxxx_Large.jpg (200x200 pixels) is always going to be before AlbumArt_xxxxx_Small.jpg (75x75 pixels) and AlbumArtSmall.jpg (also 75x75 pixels) and so would expect it to pick up 200x200 pixels there (if it didn't do the 500x500 cover.jpg).
But I think I'm seeing 75x75 pixels (or worse) --- and it sure wasn't this bad historically --- I don't know how to verify what picture it's showing in Now Playing other than to say it looks horrible ;-)

Would you mind uploading the directory so I can try and reproduce? You would only need to include 1 audio file and all the images.

I appreciate you taking a look!
I put "Data for Forum Thread 79726 For AndyG.zip" into /incoming - deleted all audio files except for one prior to zipping.
I should note this is the source data from my workstation before I copied it onto the portable drive and not the data from portable drive currently attached to the Touch (in case Touch manipulates the data in any way)...please let me know if I need to remove that from the Touch and upload that directory instead.

OK looks fine, the mp3 file has an embedded image so that will always be used and none of the image files in the directory will be used. The image looks fine to me, it came from Amazon and is the usual 600x600. The actual quality of the image kinda sucks but I guess that's how this album looks.

andyg,
For giggles I just took a screenshot using SHIFT-PRT SC and uploaded the zipped BMP to /incoming as "Data No. 2 for Forum Thread 79726 For AndyG.zip".
This is a screenshot of Squeezeplay on my Netbook - it visually looks just as bad on iPeng and my Squeezebox Radio (certainly no 600x600 if you're saying that's what is embedded).
Would it help if I provided data for one I ripped from my own CD using Windows Media Player / didn't purchase at Amazon?

Yeah that looks pretty bad, I'll look into it some more.

I tested that album using TinySC under 7.6.0, and the artwork appears correctly. It's possible the issue is already fixed.
