Hmmm... Question: until rc1, when controlling the server with iPeng, I used be to able to click a song after selecting an album, and all songs would be loaded on the playlist and the selected song would play. Now I get the Play / Play next / Add to End screen first. In the web inteface, I see an All Songs option that is not present in iPeng.

Has anything changed? I very much prefer the way it used to work...

Yes there has been a change - I will add back in some special code for compatiblity with iPeng.

I should probably just remove the 10s option as it doesn't seem to get any results for many of the genres - I think this is what you are seeing. As you can see from the debug it is asking for the right years (these params are passed straight to the spoitfy api call)


This is probably due to the server side retrying the search - could you check and post the server log for the same time - are there any error messages.

If it's an API issue, you should probably just let the 10s option be there... we don't have to use it, and music will appear sooner or later

Did you do a search for something including non ascii characters. Looks like there is a server bug here which means they are not escaped correctly. I will need to trap this better but it means such searches can't work at present...

Yep... I searched for "samba de verão"... or I thought I searched for "samba de verao", but I might have used the web interface to do the search with the non-ascii character.

OK thats a server bug which I can't fix, but I will prevent the search repeating when if fails.

When you select a song from your playlist with Ipeng you can´t get the play next, add to playlist, end of playlist display. I would like to add a song from my existing playlist to the now playing playlist if that is possible. Not like now when you only can choose to play or add the hole playlist. When you add a song from a search or topp 100 you get that option but not when you choose a song from your playlist?

New version with some bug fixes available - hopefully this is the last one before a release:
- fix escaping of search used for context menus
- fix bug introduced with top 100 track list
- add error message for searches including non ascii characters which are not handled correctly by the server
- remove automatic ppc binary selection on 10.5 macs as it does not work
- add specific menu handling for iPeng so playlist and albums show correct menu
- remove "10s" option from radio menu as there don't appear to be many tracks in 2010 yet

One feature request. I guess waaay too late for 1.0

I have mentioned it once before, but maybe the message was lost in the hailstorm of comments. Spotify added a "social" interface a few months back. The important part (for me at least) is that I can access public playlists and starred tracks made by my friends by navigating friend -> playlist. I do not have to know the spotify user name or playlist name. I just navigate to it.

Is this functionality supported by the spotify API you use and if so do you plan to use it? It is a very nice feature in a party setting. I use it all day long in the office. Quite often other peoples starred tracks as well.


Everything else is working well here. Rock solid for me for more than two weeks.
