I believe it is not a permissions issue:

Is there another reason that it might be failing? Is there something I could do to get more information about what is happening? (See my logging settings in the screenshot above.)

    Thanks for your help.

OK - try running ./spotifyd manually from the location it is installed - does it run?

Well not having had any suggestions on how to keep the Triode Spotify plugin working, perhaps because it has been dealt with earlier in this 350 page thread unbeknownst to me - I have developed a protocol that seems to avoid the necessity for a reload of the app on a regular basis. I find that by manually starting the MediaServer and then going to plugins and logging in each and every time to the Triode Spotify by hitting Apply, I can get my premium account to run even after long shut-downs, use of account on other devices (logging off when done).I can get consistent access to Spotify using Squeezepad. I am glad to be rid of the frustration described above. I had thought one could manage through Squeezepad alone. This experience is not unlike many I have had with the Duo/Duet system-;hours of head-banging, then a solution is worked out somehow or other. This is a system not ready for use by the faint of heart.

What's New listing doesn't work right

So Spotify is awesome with this Plugin.

But I've had a recurring issue with the "What's New" section. When I get the list, everything looks fine. But no matter which album I click, it always displays the first album in the list.

Is this something weird in my config, or have others had this problem???

    Zyxel NAS NSA 310 followup

It gave me some trouble to find Triodes test repository. At last I fount the 2.2.0 beta and installed it.

Problems seem to get mixed up with (general?) Zyxel NAS problems. After installing the Spotify beta (2.1.0 version had been removed) I first saw it at the top of the plugin list, but not activated!. After checking it an restarting SB (see below) it came coming up in the same state, with the request to restart SB. Now, after restarting the whole NAS I don't see any Spotify plugin any more. Not at the test repository, not at 3rd party plugins, nor under the list of advanced settings. But it keeps wanting to restart!

Note: restarting SB from the plugins also doesn't go normal. I have to disable and re-enable SB from the Zyxel control panel.

Note: I'm afraid I have to reinstall the whole SB installation, removing previous settings, [and rescanning my library], to get rid if the - now kind of hidden - Spotify plugin. I did this already before with the 2.1.0. plugin.

I can't figure out how to add the test repository, nor what to do with it. Sorry for my ignorance; please help me out.

    Anyone any other suggestions?

    Thanks.
Squeezebox Server: Version: 7.7.1 on Zyxel NAS NSA310
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.0 with Custom Browse & Triodes Spotify
on Win XP Pro SP.3. All updates.
Squezebox Duet, Android controllers. 100 GB library, 800- Albums, 13,5 k tracks.

Music manager: MediaMonkey. The best music mgr for classical music (much better then iTunes). Now with "RegExp Find and Replace" you even can batch edit tags with regular expressions.

Have you manually installed a plugin (unzip a file) as well as automatically installed one? I suspect this is what causes you a problem. To add an additional repository you should paste the new url into the "additional repositories" link at the bottom of the plugins page. This will then give you more options to install. If you have done this then I suspect the install process has failed - possibly because it can't remove the old version. Sometimes you need to reboot the machine so it can remove the old version of a plugin - have you done this?

    Similar artist mix stops playing

    Hi,

I've used the Spotify plugin for a long time now, with great joy! Recently I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 , LMC 7.7.1 and Spotify plugin 2.1.0. Now I experience some problems.

When I play a similar artist mix (great feature) after a few songs (2-6) the playback stops. I have to skip one song (>>) to get it running again. After a few songs (2-4) it stops again, etc.

The helper log says "track not available"
    [01:16:24.194042] process_track:1120 process track
[01:16:24.194213] process_track:1189 browse track: track not available
    [01:16:24.200423] main:491 req: browse.json res: spotify:track:0ofzdwFuNqtf0olmyHzjFy par: (null) prot: HTTP/1.0 auth: (null)
    [01:16:24.200605] main:871 queuing track browse
    [01:16:24.249582] metadata_updated:76 new meta
    [01:16:24.249698] process_track:1120 process track
[01:16:24.249866] process_track:1189 browse track: track not available
    [01:16:24.275381] metadata_updated:76 new meta
    ...

Does this sound familiar? What can I do about it?

    Tnx in advance!

Here is how spotifyd is failing:

    Code:
    Monk-2:~ brian$ ~/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/darwin-thread-multi-2level/spotifyd
    dyld: Symbol not found: ___stack_chk_guard
      Referenced from: /Users/brian/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/darwin-thread-multi-2level/spotifyd
      Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

    Trace/BPT trap
I think spotifyd was compiled with a newer Mac OS. As mentioned earlier, I'm using 10.4. What is the earliest MacOS version that spotifyd is compatible with?

    Thanks for your time.

Matw99 also pointed this out. I got Spotify 2.2.0 beta installed. (Copied the unzipped Spotify folder to /usr/local/zy-pkgs/gui/SqueezeCenter/Plugins and restarted the NAS). Now I can enter the Spotify settings but I can't get the helper app running. Status says Helper App: Not Running
