Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

Do you always get the connection error messages - these look like a problem with the spotify library not talking to the spotify servers correctly.

It's a new problem after i upgraded from 7.7.1 to 7.7.2 and the spotify library. I also rebooted the whole server. What do you suggest? Reinstall everything from scatch maybe?

Have you tried rebooting the NAS? Otherwise search this tread for other users of DS412+. It should work on your cpu, but I am not sure about the linux version.

It is mostly valuable for folks that don't have touch or radio as Logitech version only works for those players.

When I start using the Triode plugin for a listening session everything works fine. However when I play various albums and perform many skips/play/switches things start to freeze up. I did not have not until recently. Everything becomes really slow and songs won't play. If I wait a long while, the problem is solved only to repeat itself again.

Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong? Help is really appreciated. I live with this plugin.

Removed Triode's plugin and installed the Logitech one. No problems anymore. Too bad because I think the native one provides too little functionality. But I've had my share of reinstalling, removing and testing to get it working right.

Hi to everyone (because this is my first posting in this forum)!

First of all: Sorry, my english is not the best, so please ignore some horrible spelling and grammar! ;-)

Here is my situation:

I had a selfmade WHS with LMS and the Spotify plugin von Triode perfectly working with my two Squeezeboxes (1 Touch, 1 Boom) for over a year. The old sever broke down and i just bought a new Synology Diskstation 412+. (CPU is an Intel Atom)

Setting it up waas no problem and the LMS is running fine, but i can't get Triodes Plugin to work. Status is: Helper App is not running! I opened the port 9005 on the DS firewall and the Router, even a bunch of ports (9000-9005) without luck. Changing the Helper App's port does not help either. I rebootet the server and the NAS after each step, but with no luck.

I read that other users of DS 412 have similar problems, but i haven't found a solution yet?! Any help is highly appreciated, because i hate the official spotify plugin, LMS without Spotify is nearly useless for me, and my girlfriend starts hating the new server ("Didn't the cost too much money anyway? Can we return it?"... :-))

Any ideas what i can do?

What happens if you ssh into the NAS and try to run the binary manually: ./spotifyd or ./spotifydnoflac

I googled "ssh" :-), installed WinSCP on my Laptop, connected to NAS, found the spotifyd file in:

/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/i386-linux

than i run a terminal prompt with ./spotifyd and ./spotifydnoflac and these were the results:

Try renaming the spotifyd spotifyd64 and spotifydnoflac64 files to something else (using the mv command). Then restart the server so it tries to use spotifydnoflac - it should create the config file and run it.
