    Hi-res album art

Hi all and thanks for this great plugin! I use the plugin together with iPeng and works fantastically.

Today when I updated the spotify app for iPad I noticed that hi resolution album art were available.
I do not know if this is a question for iPeng or the plugin, but is it possible to get the hi-res album-art also in the iPeng app?

    Thanks,
    Erik

edit: Sorry for post, I just now noticed http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2012/03/...esh-for-ipeng/

Well I can confirm I definately don't test on perl 5.8.6 and I am not sure if LMS claims support for this any more? Any chance you could upgrade?

Thanks. You are right, there is no such debug output when I stream to softsqueeze.

I just want to ask some things in order to try to isolate what the problem is:

I have now made one more discovery, the plugin works perfectly for me under Windows on the same machine, it is only under Linux (Gentoo) I get this problem.

Since I know that flac files stream perfectly, do you know if there is any difference between how flac files are delivered to the network and how Spotify output is delivered (I can't see how the network make any difference between the two, I guess they both are decoded before written to the socket, am I wrong? The bandwidth looks so similar between the two cases.)

The plugin makes use of setting the tcp send buffer relatively large rather than buffering within the plugin - this works on most modern OSs - what version of linux kernel are you using? It should work as well if not better on linux in my experience.

Thanks for your quick reply, I am using kernel version 3.2.12. All through these issues I have been running quite recent kernels.

Is there some file with a setting I could just test a few different buffer sizes, or something similar?

(One more piece of information is that when I have rebooted, I can often play a few songs without problems, but then the problem starts and escalates.)

If you enable stream debugging, at the start of each connection there should be a log in the helper app log saying whether the setsockopt managed to get the sndbuffer it wanted - what does this say?

    It says

    [21:26:14.344410] set_sndbuf:227 setsockopt: asked for 32768 got 65536

It says so in all places.

That is ok then - sorry can't be of more help as it works on other linux machines.

Thanks a lot anyway, I'll see what I can do and will report any progress here.

Something really weird is happening. Don't know whether it's the Spotify service itself or the plugin. It plays each song just for a few seconds and then starts the next song, and again just for a few seconds...
