Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

I just got a Zyxel 310 Nas and installed Squeezebox on it. [Quite nice system; better as I has expected.]

Spotify plugin doesn't seem to run on it. [SB server doesn't restart properly after installing Spotify.]

Can this be because the processor isn't arm compatible (enough)?
cat /proc/cpuinfo says:
Processor : Feroceon 88FR131 rev 1 (v5l)
BogoMIPS : 1199.30

Squezeebox information says:
Platform Architecture: armv5tejl-linux

Pity. I love Spotify. Maybe I keep an [empty] squeezebox server on my XP system, only for spotify.

Thanks much, garym and triode for your help. Listening to Spotify now. I'd failed to detach from mysqueezebox, even though it was plain as day there in the instructions... rtfm....

The interesting part is the flags section it better have sse and/or sse2 instructions othervise the old version migth be what you should use ( 2.0.4 )

sse is only for the intel version. Arm has different problems - can you try adding the test repository and trying the beta 2.2.0 version?

Have you tried 7.7.1 beta ? They have fixed things in the OSX installer :-/ , I would understand if you don't want to if you have bad luck with upgrades. And I'm not on OSX so I really cant wouch for it's quality on your OS .

Interesting observation. I upgraded to 7.7.1 and I see the same double lines in the logs:

I tried setting some of the logs to debug level reporting (see attachment), but I'm only seeing the lines above.

Which menu are you using - it should be the Orange Spotify menu in the My Apps section (not the Green one which is the offical plugin). If you still see this then try setting "always stream via helper" on the plugin's settings page.

You do need to have the helper app running to set its password - can you validate whether it is running (should start running when the server restarts)

I think it's not running... I don't see it if I do

ps -aux |grep '.pl'

Is that the right way to verify?

I don't see "always stream via helper" see attached screen capture of my spotify plugins settings page.

"always stream via helper" only appears if you also have the Logitech Spotify plugin enabled.

Is it a permissing issue - can the process write to that log location and if not can you create a file and make it writable by all?
