The controller must connect directly to the receiver and the other way around... I don't use wireless network - the receiver is connected to my router via cable. Firmware is the same as always (and it is the newest version) - nothing changed except the squeezebox firmware!

In fact in your setup it is (if you are using your Receiver as a wireless bridge for the Controller):
Controller -> Receiver -> MySqueezebox.com -> Receiver
You can in fact use the Controller perfectly well without the Receiver, it can just connect direct to your wifi network without involving the Receiver. In fact, that is the default setup and it doubles the battery life of the Controller.Yes, it will. Yes, all of them. Yes, SoftSqueeze as well. What ?
I SAID ALL OF THEM !

You are right. I almost did include the last part "Receiver" but I simplified it - sure Mysqueezebox.com needs to send the command back.
I know my setup is far from optimal but I thought I would try to exclude other factors that might cause connection problems. Perhaps the receiver is causing problems in this setup?

Amen....
I have to agree. Also, good call on the DNS and the diagnostic menu. When I hooked up my radio it did everyhthing perfect. Ping'd msb.com, got an address and even showed as a player in msb.com. However, it did not get a DNS address, which I noticed by looking in the diagnostic menu. I statically addressed it (which I use normally) and it works fine.
No one knows why Logitech made it so hard to address the DUET devices and now the Radio, but.... Eventaully you can get it to ask for a static ip, but I found it easier to use a little application called SqueezeConfig on my Droid phone. You have to make sure SSH is turned on on your device and it must be plugged in to an ethernet connection, but once done it allows you to address either adapter, wireless or ethernet.
HowardCan I go home now?

Thanks for your help - My duet is working now, but it often have problems connecting to mysqueezebox.com and it often ignores commands from the controller. Same with the Radio - sometimes I wake up to music, other times it is that irritating backup tune that plays. Radio is acting strange with the latest firmware version, often it just goes into standby (clock) while I try to set the alarm etc and volume control is acting strange.
I will try to use a wireless router instead - I hope that will solve at least some of my problems. We'll see... thanks again.

UPDATE: I have to give an update because my experience with the Squeezebox products is so much different than when I started this thread. Logitech do have some problems (like all other companies...), but I must give credit to their customer service - there are a couple of helpful people in this company, and both my Duet and Radio are working now. I am sure they will fix the problems with the Radio soon (turns on and off sometimes). I am glad I didn't gave up and bought some of the other products on the market - the Squeezebox products are much more advanced and you get more for your money. People do forget that these products are more a computer than a radio or alarm clock... My connection to mysqueezebox.com is stable now, problem with volume control is also gone, so I am very happy.
I was real annoyed when I started this thread - I actually think it is a okay feature to have the list of stations that the Logitech team prefers, a couple of the suggested stations are now also my favorites. You can't appreciate such features when you are fed up with problems, but they make sense when everything works. Even the fall-back alarm sound/song isn't that annoying anymore, not more annoying than any other song you heard too many times. Amazing how fast you can change your mind about a product... I hope they will fix the minor flaws soon, then I will have the best solution on the market! Thanks.

Good, we have to remember to give credit to those people who are trying to make a difference. I would like to change my original title for this thread, because it isn't a nightmare anymore. Not sure if I can close this thread? Logitech, you are welcome to do so (if you read any of this...).
