Wasting your time. A million votes will not get iHeartRadio added to SqueezeBox. Not going to happen for a product line discontinued 5 years ago.

    You're challenging me?... :-P

I actually tried to make this happen a long time ago. But lost track of
it. Anybody knows the state of our iHR implementation on UE SmartRadio?
As I'm living outside the US I haven't really tested it in a long time.

    YES!

Hey, I'm all for having access to iHR on SB players. Though, personally, I'd never use it as it's primary focus is re-broadcasting terrestrial radio which I have zero interest in.

Thank god (and thank YOU) your ShoutCast app is still working great, including the bitrate filtering.

Given their dire financial situation I'm not sure how motivates iHeart is right now to develop support for another music system where the vendor won't pay them any money and advertising revenues get reduced (because you don't use their web site).

Totally agree on YES! I do in fact want to be able to listen to terrestrial radio however. Occasionally there is unique programming like live events that are broadcast that way.

    IHEART / z100

Along with others, I notice Iheart no longer works - seems they have removed the AKAMI feeds?
I listen in the US, but it used to work just fine in UK as well. Now it works nowhere.

Previously, although not supported, there was a page where all the streaming URL's were and it is these streams that have been pulled.
So I went onto the web and opened up Iheart, and of course you can stream to your browser. A bit more digging, and the streams appear to be in HLS format, which LMS supports with the right plugin. So can someone explain how to extract the stream url when plating in a browser.

The link to iheart z100 is this
    https://www.iheart.com/live/z100-1469/

This actually just brings up the web page, and to see what is happening you need to right click, and select inspect (using Chrome).
If you select the 'NETWORK' tab then you see (I presume) what is happening between the browser and Iheart.
I then tried to press 'play' (and then stop) to see if I could get the stream info.
    It seems they use JWPLAYER

    https://ssl.p.jwpcdn.com/player/v/7....vider.hlsjs.js

It seems to then load thie following (I do not have an iheart id and do not log in so none of the attached is specific to me)

    Request URL:https://c5.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com...me=web-desktop

I tried popping the above url into LMS on the off-chance - it kinda gets there, and indicates starting to play an HLS stream, but then fails after 4 seconds.
Any smart people out there who can explain if this is crackable? i would have thought that the URl with the right parameters for a radio instead of a web-desktop player would work? If UE works, I would have thought LMS can also..

Take a look at my post. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post898239

If you want some information about the API, take a look at this program. https://github.com/oldlaptop/iheart-mplayer

    Code:
    paul@MusicServer:~/source/iheart-mplayer$ ./iheart-url -s z100
    hits: 3
    Z100 New York's #1 Hit Music Station id:1469
    Z100 Portland's Hit Music Station id:1961
    Z100 Eau Claire's #1 Hit Music Station id:2653
    paul@MusicServer:~/source/iheart-mplayer$ ./iheart-url 1469

After a bit more digging, I found the solution to my problem.
It seems the URL (as of now) for z100 is
    http://c5icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/1469_icy

    For KISS Fm it is..

    Code:
    HLS
    http://c2.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/185/playlist.m3u8

    Shoutcast:
    https://c2icy.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/185_icy
For other stations, find the station id, and try substituting it in the above URL's (for z100 it is 1469, for KISS it is 185 etc., but substituting 1469 in the C2 and C2icy url's did not work for me)
Apparently if you dig through the station source code you will find the IHeart URL's - good luck because the source is voluminous!
Apparently these are not geo restricted but time will tell..

IHR gobbles up another Boston, MA News and talk station: WRKO 680 is now gone, several weeks ago it was WBZ 1030.

Anyone interested in starting a gofundmebto get updated unofficial firmware?

I would buy it for $200.

If we had 1000 peopke willing to do the same it would be $200,000.00.

For that amount maybe Logitech would do it.

    Regards,

    David

I doubt if 1000 people would contribute as there are other ways to find the playable URLs for the stations.

New firmware is practically impossible as very very few people have built a new version of firmeare from scratch

If you are not running LMS then new firmware is not needed - just a small applet but usually this sort of applet needs a developer who really needs the facility rather than the cash.

    Try the following as Favorites

    WRKO 680 is http://c14icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/7750_icy
    WBZ 1030 is http://c14icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/7729_icy
